I never even peeked at VWAP until you mentioned it's your ladyfriend...It makes total sense...1 guy buys 1 share for $1000...10,000 people buy 1 share for $500...That $1,000 is almost meaningless..Nice "supply and demand' look at the trading

 

For day trading it's the shit. Most algo's buy under VWAP and sell above it. So if the stock is in an uptrend, above the 50MA, I use VWAP to enter and exit trades. When you combine that with MACD and RSI you can win WAY more then you loose.

As soon as the stock get's below VWAP I look for a signal cross on the MACD as the same time I look at the RSI. When the MACD crosses and RSI is below 40 I enter the trade. When the price comes above VWAP I look to exit. That exit is determined by the MACD crossing back down and the RSI rising to above 70-80 depending on volatility.

Add VWAP to your main chart tomorrow and follow a normal stock. You'll see what I'm talking about.

It's writing calls or puts without owning the underlying security to back them if the get exercised.

You sell the $400 2/5 $GME call for $5,000. Thinking there's no way it's $400 after close friday..Only you don't have any $GME shares, you've just got big balls...
Friday GME is $1000...You have to BUY 100 shares @$1000 ea to cover the 100 shares you owe for that contract...

NOW Imagine you sold 20 of them...
Now imagine you're a Hedge fund and you've been doing this with shares for a year...
