    It’s very possible but I don’t see how you could possibly know this is happening without headers and EGT sensor on every cylinder.

    If this is the case even the water/meth guys would be in same boat.

    Looking at the supercharger I could see the front runners getting more fuel and the rear 2 cylinders running lean. The largest part of the rotor outlet is directly in line with the first cylinder and it narrows as you go back. The furthest cylinder from the front would get almost no extra fueling since it’s out of line with the outlet.

    Im just assuming your friend is looking at the plenum design and making the assumption based off of that. But I’d also assume that nobody really knows how that air is moving inside the plenum since you can’t see it.

    this also has me wondering that if this is true does that mean the cylinders also get more or less air depending on location?

    We need a fluid dynamics engineer to chime in.

    No. The wideband 02 needs to go pre-cat for accurate results.

    1997 - you are running the 1st gen supercharger, but I noticed in your build that it is black in color. Did you paint it or have it powder coated or did they come in different colors?

    I found an NOS first-gen, but it's more of a tan/grey color.

    OK thanks. There's no real difference form a performance perspective form the earlier to the later superchargers, correct? I know the earlier ones are two-piece, and already have the threaded boss for the support bracket (and say TRD on them) but that's about it, correct?

    @1997tacomav6 will know better than me, but from what I gather that's correct. The later version is easier to do oil changes on with the fill port it has, but he modified his to have one as well.

    The early TRD superchargers can be ported internally and you can get more power more air flow.

    The one piece superchargers can not be ported inside.

    BUT, they don’t sell replacement parts for the early version anymore IF you needed a part like a nose snout etc.

    I painted it black,

    The very 1st round of superchargers were actually recalled.

    I bought my supercharger as soon as they came out,
    A year later they did a recall on it and replaced it with another grey updated supercharger

    That NOS one might be one that was under the recall, don’t know

    Interesting. Is there any way to tell?

    Also, @1997v6taco mentioned that they don’t make replacement parts for the 1st-gen s/c. I wonder if I should just get the newer one from Magnusson.

    Buying a used supercharger is a bit of a gamble. Unless they have a recent invoice from a reputable shop showing it's had a complete rebuild it's best to assume it's going to need a rebuild before you can put it on your truck. Or...you know the person and the supercharger. A rebuild is $900 plus dollars unless you do it yourself and might take 10 months.

    A bad case scenario is you buy a use SC that was allegedly rebuilt but it turns out it's a basket case and you end up spending as much or more if you'd just bought a new one. Worst case is it's so hosed it's beyond rebuilding or not worth (I've yet to hear of this happening but it's possible, right?).

    Or you can buy a new one which will still take a while but it'll be new and it'll have a warranty like John said.

    Personally, if I could do it again I'd buy a new one. But hindsight is always 20/20.

    I'm going to pass on the 1st-gen s/c for now. It's a brand new (NOS) unit still in the box, but it's from a private seller, so there would be no warranty whatsoever. He also wants about $1000 more than a new Magnusson unit, probably because he recognizes what a rare NOS part it is, but I'm going to pass. Due to the pandemic, there seems to be a long wait for the Magnusson new ones, but I'm in no real hurry.

    PS - how do you get the Fuelly info to appear in your signature?
