I mean yeah I passed out for a second. But once I came too it was me that figured out how to attach said split to my arm hahahaha good times.

I think that's still the worst "medical" thing that's happened to me. And a group I've been in.

All the best stories come from being way back from civilization alone. From drowning a 4 wheeler in a river that looked “shallow”, rolling snow machines, almost rolling the Tacoma, or nearly getting struck by lightning in the SXS. They’re all satisfying memories at the end of the day.

yeah most are worried they are going to try and ban all 4x4 activity. Which is nuts, they see WAY too much income from that.

But banning assholes from hauling ass around town in those dumb things, makes sense to me. I find it super annoying that they are allowed on roads as it is.


Interesting thread indeed, surprised there isn't more traffic in it..

That said, classic people "MORE REGULATIONS MEANS WE ARE ALL GONNA BE SCREWED!"


Hopefully something good comes from it and things aren't pressured the wrong way.

 

We all need to be careful what we wish for, my SXS has seen way more activity driving to and from the grocery store and and post office than the backcountry over the past year. I don’t know anything about the Moab situation, but I do know the current federal government’s inclination is going to be to curb personal rights at all costs. Don’t get too excited when a group that you may personally dislike loses their ability to do something, however annoying you might find it personally.

 

No offense, but I don't like the people here that drive those things to the store and stuff too just like what you are talking about. Most drive too fast, hot rod around, and they are just loud in general. Not saying you do that..but more than a few bad apples are ruining it for them, just as they now have in Moab.

They are not made to ride around in town. So I see nothing wrong with it staying Off Highway just as they were originally intended. And for that matter if people were just better with them on the trails too I'd feel differently.


There is balance in all things, I don't think regulation is going to ever get the point were everyone can't do anything ever. But you'd be a fool not to notice how SXS have impacted our lands, our sport, and our activities for the worst.

 

They just took them off the streets and stopped giving permits for big events right?

I don’t see a probably with that in a place like Moab, nothings stopping a couple of buddies from cruising down there taking their SXS on some trails.

Not having large get togethers will keep a lot of idiots off the rocks too. Unless I didn’t skim as well as I thought.

 

No offense taken, my view is colored by the fact that all the off-roading I get to do these days is in my SXS. The bad apples argument is just a bad argument. Assholes are everywhere, in every aspect and walk of life. If we take away everybody’s rights due to the assholes then we just f over everyone and eventually cause the law abiding people to revolt. I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel it’s really just basic human history
