I think AMD is a good call. Been wanting to get on the AMD bandwagon since 2007 but never had the disposable income.

 

so if I math correct, I'm up to $2,016 on my $600

 

Just don’t invite that Reddit guy into any competitions.

 

So can someone give me a cliff note explanation of what to fuck happened with Reddit and GameStop? Did every just decide to buy and drive the price up?

 

The hedge funds were short more shares than the float, Reddit noticed and bought, so a massive short squeeze happened. There’s probably someone who can give you a lot better explanation.

Got one share of BA and order placed for 1 share of AMD but looks like it's going in tomorrow morning so we'll see where that ends up. I might be up over $1.00 tomorrow if all goes well, woooohoooo.

TLDR on the situation is big hedge fund had a short, reddit peeps ganged up to squeeze 'em which "went viral" so the price went up, hedge fund had to get out of the short driving the price further up, tipping the scales for other shorters until it went from 2B to 10B ish? Then the predictable nosedive, meanwhile people are a little cranky that the pros get to do this stuff but RH and others shut the fun down for the amateurs.

Kind of an amusing David v Goliath battle where some of the pros got it handed to them (the part I like) meanwhile everyone was (and perhaps still is) playing games instead of actually investing...

 

Thanks for the effort, guess it’s more complicated than I thought. I’m clueless about this trading stuff, now anyone want to trade some mid 80’s baseball cards, I can talk that talk or at least I could.
