after the wife and i had it. health dept called collecting data on how long, symptoms etc... to build data. my question for them and they never thought about was with all the distancing and sanitizer what happens to our immune system. i was always told we contact germs everyday and thats what keeps your immune system built up so you dont get sick from everything you come in contact with.she said good question and wrote it down

A wash of the truck is a great idea. I will have to wait a few days. No sense washing it when there is a ton of road salt and cinders on the road and they are going to drop some more over the next day.

I live on a caliche ridden hill. Only soil is from many years of leaf drop from my trees! Kind of kidding on that soil statement as most of the pasture is native grasses that don't need much of a soil profile. And good luck on your hard water. I'm still on the fence on a water softener. Just one more thing to take care of and I'm trying to limit that as I move towards retirement. Have a good one. And thanks for your feedback.

"America" Thank you for sharing. Sometimes reading these post, I feel like I just opened a 1956 Boy Scout Manual. I know most would think that was odd, but the illustrations are as close to the America I knew as you can get.

Nawww. But I rode a boat to work for eight years. If you were late to the pier, you rode the over flow boat, a 33' open boat. When you passed the break wall the waves would come over the bow, and soak everyone on the boat. Imagine arriving to work soaking wet, in 40* cold, and hungry...LOL.

Not sure how deep our well is. It is down in limestone. We live on the Niagara escarpment. It runs from here up around the Great Lakes to Niagara Falls.
We have a water softener. You can tell the difference just by looking at the small faucet on the kitchen sink. That water is straight from the well. Tastes great, but I have clean the calcium build up off the faucet head.
As for the water softener, we have a Culligan. Sure it cost $23 a month. I can use whatever softener salt I want. Any problems they fix at no charge. They installed a new system 2 years, no questions asked. I feel that as I get older let someone else set up and maintain stuff. I don't like dealing with plumbing issues.

I have never believed in the sanitizer thing. I did not get sick a lot at all but later in life, I would. I think your immune wears out cause mine did..lol. I have told my daughters to drag my grandsons through the mud and dirt once a week. Mandatory training to be a damn man....Ahahahahahahahaha.
