Block heater TSB

So about to weeks ago I took my truck into the dealer because of a check engine light that came on. I was told it was because of the block heater and that on some trucks it needs to be put into the 2nd freeze plug and not in the first. Strange I though but it turns out to be covered by a TSB. I was just seeing if this is just them trying to cover for a stupid mistake they made installing the block heater or if its true. Thanks

 

I havn't heard anything about TSBs for the block heaters around my neck of the woods. Block heaters are standard issue in this neck of the woods too.

They messed up the first time on the install and it leaked all over my drive way. I checked the truck with a Obd reader and the code was PO11B and looked it up and it said engine coolant temp/air temp correlation what ever that means any ideas. Im beging to wish there was another toyota dealership in my area

 

If you dumped your coolant on your driveway, then yea, it would tell you that your coolant is too hot (becuse it's not there!)

And I have 5 dealers in the immediate area, with 2 more a half hour outside of the city

 

no that happend last year not now no problems with that. but i the think the light might have been something else that the dealer isn't telling me

 

Block heater in a freeze plug? I installed the Toyota block heater on my truck and it didn't have anything to do with a freeze plug...are there different block heaters for the 2nd generations? Mine installed in a hole casted in the ouside of the block from the factory...

 

Are there. Not any freeze plugs mine is a 4 banger might be different
