    Been there plenty of times

"Well the right tool to do the job efficiently and without unnecessary damage is 10 feet away on the workbench....ORRR I can just smack it with this sledge/ratchet/multi tool/screwdriver handle till it *hopefully* works"

Edit:. And it never works 99% of the time. But damned if you don't say, "well that ONE time it worked just fine" every single time

Such an unfortunate truth you are telling here. I am so guilty of this. There’s that really good feeling when you smash the TRE free for about 2 seconds and then it immediately turns into “S__t, why did I do that” and then you try to ZIP the castle nut back on to fix the threads to realize it’s beyond that.

Do yourself a favor and put the nut back on upside down flush with the threads before you wack it. If it come to that again.

Just finished installing my Alpine ILX-207, changing the splash screen, installing the Tech Deck and AJT Design knobs. Lots of stuff happening this week. 4D22BAE9-2B14-47CE-830E-0691642FB4FC.jpg

    Nice upgrade on the suspension!
Did you happen to take note how much lift you got with the 887's? Charts say 2", but wanted to verify in a real-world install.

Got it dirty for the first since owing it(about 6months). Surprised how well the 4cyl will chug along in first gear with no clutch or gas(in 4H). A lot more snow than expected. Went with some co-workers, 2wd turd gen(hard to go back about 1/3 way) and an H3. Saw a cool 1st gen. For the SoCal guys, this is Cleghorn.

No, I'm an idiot and totally forgot. If you look at my post history I have a shot without the lift, with the same tires and you can compare.

I have responded to lots of great traffic collisions off the 15 and Cleghorn, I should have spent more time wheeling up there instead of working.

Got an alignment after putting in JBA uca's, new lca's and changed from 885's to 886's. My alignment was jacked up after all those changes.

Did you install the JBA's yourself? I was quoted a price today of $440 plus the amount for the UCA's. That seems outrageous to me for installation and alignment. That's about 1k for UCA's. Nope.

We had a mod day in GA. I had an extra hand with the passenger side to get the bolt out. That took about 20 mins. And I was able to do the driver side alone and removal and install on that side was about 20mins total. If I had to walk out to a stock truck today and do it again I could probably do both in an hour or less.
