Made it to the Rutland Prison Camp but the roads were all gated. Tried 3-4 different ways to access it and all were gated. Quick google search while sitting in front of a gate and it looked like they were trying to close the place down to vehilce traffic eccept during hunting season, Oct - Dec. Still managed to find some dirt roads and some ice so all was not lost. Thanks again for the suggestion..

Oh that sucks. I've never seen it closed. I know in winter it's used for snowmobiles, but obviously no snow right now

Did anyone do the exploring NH overland trip? Was looking at it with my buddy and we're going to do it in July. Just curious of anyone's experience.

I haven't done an ENH trip yet, I need to get a few more bits and bobs but will probably be in for it this year. I'm doing my long trip in March so I'll be doing a lot more weekend shots in the summer. Especially if I can get my truck set up goodly for it :D

edit: I know plenty of NH, and know most of the roads of that "cross NH" trip, they might be able to get onto some private property but :notsure:, not worth 375 bucks in my books.

Be careful with them. Their ratings are based off of an Jeep Wrangler. Stock Tacomas have less ground clearance and less turning ratio than Wranglers.
I'm not saying you can't do it just make sure you know what you are getting into.

there will be a bunch of stock / newbie runs in the spring that are more geared toward wheeling than their TransNH event. Hit up some of those to get a taste of their ratings

    Just get bigger tires!

Are the boulders there legally, or from locals trying to keep people out?

Sad to see that but I’m not surprised because of the two recent incidents

    Yup.

so when people from say Utah or Colorado move out to New England and don’t understand why we’re so “secretive” about our wheeling spots and locations, this is why. We don’t have many and once they get flooded with people they get shut down.

I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner. Back years ago when they were doing work on the Transmission Lines (when they graded over the first powerline ledge climb) as part of the permitting for the project environmental controls were required. So hay bales/ silt fence around most of the mud holes because they are qualified as vernal pools that could potentially be habitats for certain amphibian species. But every weekend the hillbilly idiots would rip out the environmental controls and drive through those areas. Plus that damn sand pit, which I think was on the Boy Scout's property was always full of broken glass and trash. People are dumb.

Yup. I saw mostly just people wheeling when I went out there, not too much idiocy (mostly any idiocy was me splashing in puddles instead of going slow ). Went out at night with Rich at the end of this past summer - man, after dark that place gets rowdy. Well. Got.
