@snowsk8air2 it was @Basikbiker who had the trick I was thinking of.

Yup, that's phase 2, so I can maximize the turning radius at the same time.

My last custom knuckle I traded too much turning radius for lower steering effort, and ended up with a turning circle similar to an Aircraft carrier.

Put a steering box on that thing already and throw the rack in the trash where it belongs. If you ditch the AC compressor a Saginaw box fits perfect. Then you can reduce the steering effort through the pitman arm with keeping the spindle steering arms short and strong

Next time the rack fails that's the plan. I've already upgraded it to a tundra rack, but it's still not enough.

What kind of wheeling causes yours to fail / what size tires you running?

    295/70/17.

And driving fast on rocks with a mid-travel rig. The LT I'm building isn't going to help that.

The rocks destroys racks when we force turning them when it's bound up. And hitting a wheel when sliding into a rock or something so lots of side loading. Doesn't really matter the tire size I killed my first rack with 33s.
This all of this!!! I'm working (still in the planning stages) on figuring out a solution similar to what JD did with the slide rack just using a hydro assist. Dirt track racing uses hydo assist racks and they have through steering shaft orbital valves.

Yeah I see it must be more rock crawling since I’ve seen a race truck and a linked double cab fly through whoops and hit road gaps using the tundra rack.

Shit I've rolled my truck pretty hard.....drove it home hands off straight with a tundra rack....they're pretty tough but yea the whole wheel bound up and forcing it off a rock type deal is really hard on stuff even on steering boxs....thats why u see dedicated crawlers with full hydro

I'm pretty sure I bent the frame a little when I blew all the seals out of my trundra rack. I know I fucked up the LCA mounts on the frame pretty good with that hit.

Given how my initial attempt at measuring for steering pickups on this setup went maybe I'm doing a steering box sooner than later.

Mount that upper on top of the frame and you will have a lot less camber change as it cycles

I played with that, but the Instant Center goes crazy, and the scrub radius ends up sucking (because of the packaging constraints on the wheel driving the spindle geometry).

There's a bunch of reasons no one makes a short-arm long-travel setup for these trucks, and I'm learning many of them. Going +4 and just accepting that I won't fit on some trails would definitely have been easier.

So that plate with the scribbles...turn it 90 and draw your arcs on it

Does it matter how close the plate is to the actual centerline of the steering pivot (distance forward of the axle)?

Does anyone ever have trouble with Fox high/low-speed adjusters seizing?
The outer gold low-speed knob has worked fine for me, but the inner blue high-speed compression ring sticks, as in unable to be turned by hand.
I tried spraying a bit of wd-40 and then some penetrating oil on them and no change. Then tried to stick an allen key wrench in one of the holes in the blue adjuster rings and ended up breaking something internally, as it now spins forever.

Known issue? Something else I should try to the other side to free it up without damaging the coilover?

    Check My Sig.
They are known to be difficult to turn when fully closed/open but usually the allen key trick works. If it's spinning without stop now, you've likely damaged something internally. I'd recommend taking them into a reputable shop to have them looked at.

I think they were fully open. Good to know.

& Yeah, I’ve definitely damages something in one of them. Will eventually take them to accutune most likely with some other shocks.

Mine did the same thing. The dsc uses small springs and ball bearings to give it that clicky feel and mine was full of sediment, so the springs wouldnt compress. I undid the allen on the gold adjuster, as well as the ones along the perimeter of the blue adjuster, pulled the knobs off and cleaned it out.
