not tire related (sorry) but what kind of bumper/bar is that?

Tire related: I just got a 2021 SR5, and am thinking that I will replace the tires and wheels this summer. After looking at much of this thread, I am convinced that the 265 width will be perfect for what I want - which is to NOT have to do a bunch lifting and alteration right away. So the question is: which tire? I have narrowed that down to:

    Dick Cepek Trail Country EXP
    Cooper AT3 4s'
    Hankook Dynapro AT2's
    BFGoodrich All Terrain TA's

I will be doing about 70% regular road and about 30% gravel/fire road/farm and field on vacation. Not getting into rock climbing/crawling or "upper level" off roading....yet(?) Also want a tire that works well in snow, and slush...also will be pulling a tear drop trailer on our summer adventures, so I am thinking that the SL or E load rating will be fine...

My opinion would be to skip the E rated tires on a truck this light. I know plenty of guys run them, but they are heavy and rode rough when I had them on a Titan that's heavier.

The Hankook Dynapro AT2 in 265/75R16 are on sale from Amazon for $133 each right now, Discount tire should match it.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07M75V6LZ/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Discount has a $100 instant rebate off the Cooper AT3 4S right now, makes them $140 each.

Are most of you guys keeping the stock spare tire, or are you getting a matching size spare?

I think the matching size spare is a good idea to match the size, but with the non matching wheel and the inability to program a fifth TPMS I don't know if it will ever touch the ground in the 39K of my lease.

I would get a matching spare I think...in that case, would I also have to get a matching wheel? I plan on getting the American Racing Outlaw 2's...

I don't plan on getting wheels any bigger than I already have...

when upgrading to a bigger tire, do we need to have our driving ability recalibrated? i apologize if that doesn't make sense.

Is English a second language for you? I'll try to answer appropriately.

You shouldn't have to drive differently, and you shouldn't need to recalibrate your VSC. If you also get an alignment, which many people do, you should recalibrate your VSC. Your driving should not really change after any of these situations though.

no sir. i couldn't come up with the right words to say on this topic. i meant to say if there was a reset needed on the engine/transmission to learn your driving with 265's?

So a few questions regarding this size of tire, if anyone’s got a second to answer...

Should a guy get a matching size spare? It is the stock spare close enough in size to not do any damage if you lost a tire?

How much clearance is there? I’d like to run a slimline bumper and a winch, and I don’t know if that would make the truck sag enough to cause any rubbing issues...

I'd definitely recommend a matching spare, especially because at this size it'll still fit in the stock carrying location under the bed. That's less storage you have to figure out.

I'm not sure exactly how much clearance, but it's not much if you're on a stock suspension. Before I lifted I would still rub at full lock and occasionally if I was backing up and turning, so I would think the weight of really any bumper and definitely a winch would cause significant rub. You could probably trim to solve it but I would almost guarantee it'll be there.

thanks for the info man! Maybe I’ll hold off on the bumper/winch for the time being, or just run a small spacer to make up for the sag until I can afford to lift properly

I just picked up some $5100s and 887s. Keep your eye out for people taking them off and upgrading into a more serious suspension setup. TW members have always been my go-to.

Hey all, im currently running stock tires, 245/75/R16, 19 SR5 DCLB.

Could I upgrade to a 265 or 270 without rubbing or damaging anything suspension wise?

So let me ask... I understand the thread title is 265, but why not a 270?
    Does that affect anything?
