Yeah lawsuits are out of hand these days. The legal system needs some real changes. File all the lawsuits you want but if you loose you pay all legal fees. This would be my first change.

 

I agree with you there.

In my mind, the key at this moment would be beating that 4Runner handle to market. With a US mold maker, folks should be able to do that due to shipping times and the upcoming, long Chinese holiday.

I haven't read past this if your situation has changed but you still maybe able to go the CC route. They have a stipulation for purchases made in advance you have up until 90 days PAST the date of receipt of product to file a dispute. I am not sure how it will play out if you didn't have an exact date to receive the product etc.

I did this with an 8k guided trip, they couldn't perform and I paid through CC 1 year before. CC refunded me and took it up with the merchant. Worth a shot. I did VISA which was easy and my buddy used American express, his was a bit more hassle but still got it. AE actually doesn't have a time limit I think(may have changed)

 

Ive not seen such an option in regards to Chase credit cards. My handle is still en route to KTJO. USPS picked it up on January 19. It didnt arrive in Los Angeles until January 29. No shipping updates since. So it will probably show up destroyed amd get charged a restocking fee of some sort.

Again its worth a shot but not sure if you have enough compelling evidence. Going this route and winning will also ding the merchant.

Edit it might not be worth the hassle for you but something to keep in mind for everyone.

 

And, chargebacks are a mofo for sellers. If I paid with a CC, I would have done this just for the fact that I had to bend metal for it to fit.

 

geez, i forgot the US geography, you shipped it back to KTJO from Washington State and USPS route it down south to Los Angeles and now needs to ship it back North to Oregon?

my return from Hawaii to KTJO4x4 took 5 days at most. What are they thinking on the West Coast? Is it the antifa riots/takeover affecting USPS service around Oregon?

I remember when I gave my honest opinion about this grab handle bs in hope that people would stop making a blind purchase, specially a person that is no longer a member and hard to get in touch with etc.
All I got was a bunch of..from people. I truly hope that everyone get their money back or whatever issue solved.

hmmm, the box is Chessy weak to be shipped out like that and not double boxed like the big online retailers do. I guess its to keep costs down or she'd pass down the cost for double boxing and thats not speaking of the xtra work that would be created.

Maybe the colorful graphics box must have added costs to the box, maybe it should have been boxed in a better sturdier brown box to keep the parts from damage. Don't need the advertisement

 

Very true. I don't need some bespoke box to get me excited about a proper mod. Even the stupid little box for the cover exchange was branded. Spend the money getting the damn house in order and not hold folks' kits for ransom.
