Just pulled the trigger today and bought one with install at a local Custom Car Audio Store. Total damages with faceplate trim piece and IPOD adaptor cord was just north of $1600. It will be installed on Tuesday. My 2006 Tacoma will never be the same when the old radio stack is replaced with the Pioneer Unit.
I decided to have the local shop sell me the Unit with installation versus saving a few bucks and buying it online cause I like to patronize local businessmen. I'll post before and after pic's when the job is complete.

Thats what I paid for my head unit but it was a Kenwood Excelon DNX9960, CMOS300 multiview camera, iPod audio/video cable, SWI Jack steering wheel controls, and Metra dash kit all installed. Also got my interior part painted matte black and my camera mode and voice activation buttons mounted.

Oh yeah, Kenwood gave me a $150 rebate card too.

Pioneer has a $100 rebate going on until the end of December, so that will off set my cost slightly
