Getting new rubber on the Tundy this week, so I threw the old ones on Craigslist and FB Marketplace yesterday. I was immediately reminded why I never sell stuff there... I clearly stated that the buyer would have to pay me, via PayPal or Venmo, prior to picking up the tires. That way, I don't have to deal with no shows, or :censored: that do show, then want to pay me 50% of the asking price. I described the tires accurately, and included pictures taken right before I posted the ads.

The responses fell into three groups:
    1. People who thought I was selling the rims and tires. Yeah, sure I'm selling 4 - 20" Fuel rims, and ProComp mud tires with about 10-15K miles left on them, for $125. I guess clearly stating "tires" in the ad, and not mentioning rims, threw some people off. So, I went back and added in ALL CAPS, that the rims were not being sold, just the tires.
    2. People who told me they aren't buying the way I'm selling the tires. Cool. Then you're not buying them.
    3. And of course, the usual, the :censored: that just inquire by asking if they are still available. I respond yes, and never hear from the individual again. Truly mystifying, these folks.
    Yes, they live amongst us.

Put yourself in the buyers position. I have both bought and sold numerous items on both FB Marketplace and Craigslist. I always deal in cash upon inspection, and no shipping for either transaction. Too many dishonest people out there and it is a major hassle to get your money back from either Venmo or PayPal if the items for sale are not as described.

As far as the buyer or seller showing up is concerned, I screen them, and speak with them direct via telephone before arranging a pick up location, I have only had an issue once in probably 15-20 transactions.

As far as the price is concerned, the buyer is free to offer whatever he feels comfortable with at the time of inspection, and you are free to accept or decline as you feel comfortable with, it is how the majority of used item sales go and it is totally appropriate. Pictures, especially with things like tires are no substitute for a visual inspection.

    Good luck with your sale.

Just got this one - it's a work in progress.....
Hey Austin folks. I wanted to try this here first - since I really really really don't want to ship these things. But I have something up for grabs:

Like new Goose-Gear rear seat delete sets for 2nd Gen Access Cab. This is for both right and left sides. These things sell from Goose-gear for $395 per side ($790 total). The construction is awesome. These get rid of the jump seats in the access cab and give you a solid, flat surface with tons of storage underneath. Note - these are shaped for the "later" 2nd Gens (2009-2015, according to goose-gear) -- so if your back area is not shaped like the pics they ain't gonna fit.

    Check them out at https://www.goose-gear.com/products...or-2nd-generation?_pos=3&_sid=d7d28d650&_ss=r

Ok so here's the catch as to why I'm selling them: I was one of the first people to purchase these from goose-gear. They had initially messed up on their production CAD files, so they got the the mounting screw holes in the wrong places. They ended up just remaking/replacing my order - which left me with these. What this mean is that you will only be able to mount them with a couple of the holes, or you can drill new holes for a more secure mounting. Either way, they work just fine (I used them for several months while my new ones were getting made).

Comes with everything - hardware, locks, keys, etc (however, I think there might be one screw missing).

Trying to recoup some of my $$ and months of headache: $250 takes it all. For local pickup - I'm in South Austin 78745.

Checked out Padre Island National Seashore this weekend. I was planning on camping out but the winds picked up and sand was EVERYWHERE! Son of a beach! Ended up camping at the family farm just to get some use out of the tent haha
