ROOF RACK - Group Buy!!!!

I highly recommend AL Offroad, can't say enough good things about Scott and AL Offroad.

I have the Onyx roof rack along with the newly developed topper rack for my 3rd gen.

Not much interest in our rack I guess. We have them in stock. hhairball's rack is shipping out by Friday.

 

Just finished installing this on a buddies taco. Good quality for sure. Main problem we faced was the little plastic spacers that need to be on the ends of each crossbar and the screws didn’t fit in the slots on side rails to screw into crossbars. We needed to pound them in and pull them while lining them up with plastic spacers to screw into cross bars. In the future could you eliminate the need for these spacers? And widen slots on side rails so screws can slide freely.

 

We are eliminating the plastic end caps for the bars. They were a pain! As for the slots in the sides and the crossbar screws. We have been finding that the powder coating is a little thicker and has made it hard to get the screws in. We have kept them a very tight tolerance because we did not want the rack to be sloppy. But we are going to have to open that up a little it looks like.

What are your thoughts on the quality and the look?

 

Quality is great! Basically the same as my prinsu in my opinion. But yea seems like you guys are on your way to fixing all the kinks! Keep up the good work!

 

So is this batch going to include the troublesome spacers?

 

Yes, they are a little bit of a pain but they were designed to keep the crossbars from scratching the inside of the rack side rails when you move your crossbars around. They could be left out if you wanted.

There not spacers as much as they are caps to the crossbars.

 

Nice rack! Thank you for putting the offer out there. It’s not the right time for me to drop the cash on a rack. I’ll keep you in mind when I’m ready.

Is 4th gen 4Runner preorder including shipping?

 

Unfortunately no, shipping is running $160 my cost per rack. The box is 95”x10”x6”

We are doing presales on our website. I will not be posting a 4Runner group buys in this forum.

 

This is moving up the ladder of projects. We are getting more requests for this. Th problem is that I do not know anyone around me with an AC cab Taco to look at and get measurements.
