I need to pay my mom a visit, in fact going to put that on my to do list for the weekend. She's only 50 miles away and I rarely go visit.

 

I have about 5 or 6 rolls, maybe more, steel Lincolns in my collection. Not for sale though.

 

I wish it were in better condition. I guess new they were plated with something that wore off quickly. I'm not sure how I even recognize it was steel but just different from other wheat pennies I've got.
I should break out magnifier and see the mint, as it looks odd, hard to make out at best.

Looks like a San Fran. A 1943 Denver might be worth some $$. I don't see doubling.
Looks like it was wire brushed. That doesn't help with value. I got a Steelie around here somewhere...

 

I stopped collecting many years ago. Sold most everything when I lost interest. Gave a silver dollar to family and friends when their new baby arrived...that was always a fun thing to do. The steel Lincolns were everyday coins when collected and none were rare, not D's or S's. Never held a double strike.

 

One of these days I'mma buck up and buy a 1955 double die Lincoln.

 

It's in such poor shape I couldn't make out the mint. Not wire brush but...scotchbrite

I never got to run a snow plow but it does look fun. As long as it wasn't my truck.
I asked a snow removal guy one time if his ford or chevy heavy duties held up better. He said it doesn't matter, tears the shit out of both!

 

Collecting is always entertaining. The chase is fun.
