See that's more like it. Sounds like someone is trying to rip me off. I really want to get a set of these to improve my handling, even though I'm only running a two inch lift. I'm not willing to pay a thousand dollars for it though. Glad you got yours on man. I guess an alignment will button it all up.

I just installed some replacement OEM-style UCAs and LCAs on my truck. Having gone through the process once, if I had to do it again, I'd say I could replace both UCAs in 1-1.5 hours (maybe a little more if we are dealing with corrosion). I'd imagine a dedicated shop could do it faster. If we say $100/hr labor charge and $100-125 for alignment, that $440 is definitely on the high side.

The members here have never let me down when it comes to help installing stuff that I'm not able to do myself. Hit up your sub-forum for your location, I bet you could find someone that could help you out.

Yes sir. I guess if I'm feeling froggy one day I might try to install them myself, but as of right now, I'd rather just have someone who is skilled do it. I just need to shop around.

Shops usually charge how many hours the book tells them. They don’t go by actual time.

Made and AUX fuse block today, in preparation for whatever. Used Lexan sheet to make it, as I don’t have a press at home for steel/aluminum.

Definitely not finished, gotta tighten up all the wiring but it was getting late so I closed it all up and now have a project for another day. AFBDA061-A0FB-4D9D-864A-B0EAF7728401.jpg

Agreed! Loving that front look with the TRD Pro grill and those headlights! Eventually, I’d love to do something like that look for my white 2013 TRD Sport DCLB.

After doing JBA UCA's myself recently I would say $400-$500 for install is not a bad price. Bending the body panels and working between all the AC and wire harness was a major pain. I had to have my wife help me as a second set of hands when putting the washers into place and putting the bolt back in. I probably had 3 hours in on my install, doing the math you are looking at about $150 an hour for a tech to do them which is not far off for shop prices.

Edit: After reading some other posts calculating the costs I need to mention I dealt with quite a bit of rust breaking everything apart, that definitely added quite a bit of time as well to be sure not to snap any of the hardware. Could probably be done in less if you dont live in the rust belt.

Ok thank you! Maybe I'm the one being unreasonable and not the shop. I'm definitely not ruling it out since I want to get it done regardless. Plus I think I'm going to throw a half inch spacer up front for some added lift too. Would be a lot cheaper than swapping out to 885s.

Frickkkkkkk yessssssss feels SO GOOD to be done with this gear job. GEARS ARE DONE MAN the truck feels incredibly around town. Didnt take it above 60mph or even 2500rpm but it is so freaking zippy. From stock to 5:29 with the 5spd AT & 35’s is a dreamy combo. Truck drives SO smooth & the speedo doesn’t even seem off. I’m going to reset my Ultragauge mpg calculator and pay close attention to the vitals while I put a very easy 500 miles on the truck. I swear it’s smoother than I thought it would drive. Which makes sense. Front DS diff insert for the axle was getting hella clapped out & the rest of the stock gears were just a little tired of the 35’s. Zuk did an incredible job setting these and the rear REM ring & pinion literally looks like polished chrome
