IMO you are not very smart or don't care much about your life if you don't want to wear a seat belt.

I was in a head on collision in 1993. The car I had was a Ford Escort. IF I HAD NOT HAD THE SEAT BELT ON I WOULD HAVE DIED THAT NIGHT. They told me later that it was probably all the saved me and I likely would have died.
Also I had to be revived 3 times on the way to the hospital. Yes, Revived as in brought back from flatline or dead. Both my legs were broken, jaw broken too.
I was in hospital and rehab center for about a month and still went home in a wheelchair. I had to basically learn to walk again after I could put weight on my legs again. Trust me you don't want to go through something like that. Sure today cars are built to protect better in crashes but why chance it. I wouldn't wish my ordeal on anyone.

    Wear your dam seat belts!

Just an FYI, mines on before I’m in reverse, but that’s my choice. However wearing the seatbelt on the beach on the Gulf Coast gets annoying quickly, same goes for the deer lease.

It my choice, not anyone else’s, thanks for your input.

There are people that use their trucks for working on a farm or ranch where they are driving at low speeds off road and constantly stopping and getting in and out. Absolutely no need for a seat belt in those conditions and the constant beeping will drive you nuts after a while.

I would say in that situation this is somewhat understandable but not on roads.
It's required I believe in nearly every state to wear it when driving on public roads.
It's not really just about your driving there anything can happen and you can't control others.

I hear the seat belt complaints on every vehicle forum usually it's because people just don't want to wear it and want the noise gone because they don't believe in wearing it. I even wear mine when I'm driving off road.
The off road park near me even requires seatbelt use.

Not that I'm going fast but still you could roll over or something and with no seat belts you would be thrown around the vehicle.... But you all's choice there.

The dealer refused to do mine, claiming it would be unlawful (i call bs) and that they could be held liable. Needless to say I will be stopping by a junkyard soon or buying a seatbelt extension.

Besides the noise being annoying, why do most people want to stop the chiming from occurring?

When putting groceries in the passenger seat or other heavy non-living objects, its assumed to be a person by the weight. The seat belt warning will beep constantly. I don't think anyone is saying they are not wearing a seat belt

They do. The speaker removal has been friggin' excellent.

We live in a cul de sac. Swapping cars around, pulling into the garage, and such, the beep was annoying.

I wear my seatbelt and don't need a reminder. The red dash light is more than sufficient.

I drive across the parking from one office to another a few times a day. I’m not bucking up to cross a mostly empty parking lot lol
Of course I wear it when I drive.

Same for me, it’s almost a square mile property, we have golf carts, but when it’s raining or a cool windy day, I take my truck.

I have the same situation at work. We have another part of the campus that's on the other side of the street. It's less than a mile even counting the parking lots but I still put on the seatbelt out of habit. To me it's less trouble to just do it. I'd be afraid if I turned off the chime one day I might get in the truck in a hurry and forget to buckle up. Maybe that would be the day I got in another bad accident.
That's just me I guess. We all have to take risks in life... That's not one for me to take after what I went through.

When my truck went in for the first service I asked the dealership to turn it off.

I said "My dog weights just at 30 lbs so the chime is constantly turning on and off." They said "Okay" and turned it off.
