No idea, but I was thinking the same thing. Notifications seem spotty at best lately.

Well, I am a tall boy in a short bed world. I like being off the ground though, it's awesome. I'd go shell with RTT on top. Spent many summers camping in torrential rain though, nervous to see how an RTT would perform during that if it happened, but also thankful I wouldn't have to be on the ground during it too.

The RTT would most likely be fine, the issue is the fact that shells tend to shift when you're wheeling and if you throw a bunch of weight on top of them it'll make that shift worse.

True, that's not an ideal situation.

Maybe one day I can get another truck to use as a truck, and use current truck to do the swap to a shell, get decked system, and set up sleeping quarters inside.

Shitty weather was a big driver for me to get the habitat. All that interior space and covered space is great during rain etc

I camped in a ground tent in 3 days of rain at overland expo east.. would not recommend.

Every time I go to ATR or Shamrock Shakedown there seems to be endless amounts of rain. Every time I go camping there is rain but I'm not springing for an RTT.

Yeah, I bet it's nice. I like the idea of the GFC. I haven't looked around one, but I would do a red Leer shell with a tent like that. I don't like the boxy look that I saw on the first google image for a gen 2 GFC as you suggested yesterday.

I've camped with a tornado on an opposite of lake from me. I've helped dad stand in our awning and hold it up with 50+ MPH winds battering us for hours. I've woken up with the top of my tent in my face and battering with rain. It's the best, don't you know? lol My family always brought the rain with us that their friends literally had a wooden sign made for them that said "Our Last name here Camp Chicago".

What's scary about this is that if he put on a wig, and had the mustache it really wouldn't be to far off
    what he'd really look like.

This is actually more of an issue than people think. The bed-side-realignment- 45 degree-angle-bracket devices are a must. Just don't ask TW who sells them.

I just had a thought. Who is going to be the first to let @Slashaar and @Sociopenguin franken-cage their rig? I vote @Calamity_taco's Si gets an exocage first. And paint it orange.

Other than that, does anybody have any experience with in the quarter panel brush bars that the Aussies run all the time?

full cages are heavy and really only needed for heavy duty rock crawling / buggies.

Sub for the quarter panel bars that Aussies run

Yeah, I know that. I'm just interested in the style of bed cage that the GFC was originally shown on.

I’m pretty sure everyone that has them in the states had them custom made. Over there I’m pretty sure they smash at least one kangaroo on every trip.

I have some tubing that will become rear bumper side protection.
Haven't finalized a design quite yet but got it mostly thought out in my head.

This is kind of where I'm at right now. I'm getting my BOM together for when I have the space this spring to do all my bigger welding projects and I'm at a loss as to where they'd even tie in to the frame if I don't have a rear plate bumper.
