I fell asleep in the 2nd period. I woke up after the game was over. I asked my wife what happened. She simply said, "we lost." Looking at the stats, I see special teams was the difference.

 

And Crosby wants nothing to do with Philly. The feeling is mutual. That's ok, he can admire his 3 Cup wins from here. How long has it been for the Flyers? 1974 or 1975?

Why does Calgary hate Sam Bennett so much? The dude was a stud in the playoffs last year, really their only good player in the playoffs actually, and should move up to the second line or at least see more than 11 minutes a night. If it's true that the Flames would take Dermott and a 2nd round pick for Bennett to trade him to the Leafs I'm 100% on board. We could use his size on the 2nd PP unit.

Fun fact, I hope Marner can live up to his contract mostly because he seems to be a Lindros type player. Super high skill but not a great team mate and has a father who makes his decisions and opinions for him.

 

I actually read the opposite. I read that Rutherford had a trade lined up to move Letang and wanted to start the rebuild and ownership said no.

 

You are right. Apparently Rutherford wanted to make the move. I think Rutherford was correct.

Limpwang or Letithang most overated player of last 20yrs

 

He had some good years in his younger days. His stats bear that out, 540 points in 817 games, easily over a .5 point per game. That's good for a D man. His average ice time for his career is is just shy of 24 minutes per game, which is also telling. But in the last few years his deficits have outshone his benefits, including his continuing insistence to take big risks at the offensive blue line.
