Wanted to reach out and see if anyone has any first hand experience with Tekton or Gearwrench tools. Im looking to get some new tools as I've been using a hodge podge set for the past 10 years that I've pieced together from various brands here and there. looking to invest in a good set for home use (not a professional by any means) thats going to last a long time and these are the two brands that I've landed on. let the tool debate begin!

I’m a big fan of my husky tools from Home Depot, never broken any and they’ve got that “no questions asked” warranty so if I have to weld a socket to something one day I can just cut it apart and take it back.

Is this what $7k gets you these days? 1st gen with 150k miles, swiss cheese frame and also needs a timing belt for starters. I do like the red though.

So someone does all that work (plus you know there'll be a ton more once the dominoes start falling), and then it's worth what ... 11k? I don't get it. But I bet it sells for 6 anyway.

Add in auction fees, tax and likely shipping. That gets you pretty close to 8800.

But you're right. The underlying asset isn't worth that on a good day.

Good point, it probably adds up to that. Uncle Sam needs his cut.

At least it's not as much tax as you'll have to pay on all that GME you cashed out, but still.

Glad I got in on the low end before the surge, sold, and reentered. I think enough people are going paper hands yesterday and today that they're gonna bleed the :rocket::rocket::rocket: out of the money, and allow the hedges to soften their positions.

Millcreek area checking in. Maybe you can help clear things up... I thought to get an OVtune required buying a dongle and license and all sorts of stuff. How are you guys managing to do tunes for less?

Also,.I have an MT and from what I gathered on the OV tune threads, it's totally different with the manual.

The current state of vF tuner allows anyone with a version of an ECU unlocked to flash tunes to any truck with that ECU. So someone that has already purchased the cable and the software, spent $75 to unlock your ECU, and created or obtained a tune pack for your ECU can tune your truck. Tuning manuals is actually easier than the AT’s. Different? Yes.

However, you have 2 things working against you. 1st, your signature shows a 2021 Pro MT (04C30 ECU), last I checked vF hasn’t released tune packs for that ECU. 2nd, vF is about to release an update that changes all this so each person with vF software will have to spend credits for each VIN and ECU. Details still coming in, but it’s about to get harder to tune multiple trucks.

Only thing I would add is the tune pack for that ECU should have been purchased as well if you are loading other ECUs. The ECU credit unlock is just to manipulate the stock file or the tunes for that ECU if you have purchased the tune pack. Many are just passing around files that may be the base file or maybe an edited file from someone. The new process will ensure that you have purchased the tune pack and or ECU unlock, the tune will be Vin locked.

So I might have only moved here about 7 months ago, but I’ve got 5 deer points that I’d like to spend this year. Anyone have recommendations on what I should do with them? I’m from a place where a 120” deer is a giant. We shoulder mount him and become a legend. So I’m not looking for a “freak” as you guys would call it :)

Also I’ve got about a dozen spots in southern UT I’ve picked out for sheds in mid March. If anyone wants to broverland and pound some hills I’m sure it’ll be an adventure. Considering taking some Utah license plates so my truck doesn’t get keyed when I park my OR truck on the side of a dirt road. Regardless, I could use an extra pair of legs to cover some ground.

Youll be fine with out of state plates. Cant say Ive heard of any cases where a plate is what got a vehicle keyed (in utah).

Id go with, but Im booked solid on March weekends. That sounds like a good time.
