I mentioned cylinder 1. Cylinder one is the one with coolant. Could valve guides burn oil?

Where should I get the head gasket from? Is there a kit I buy from fel pro?

Or do you believe I should look into a used motor? It’s got 327k but was rebuilt.

Get a TOYOTA GASKET SET. Your mechanic probably used FelPro which is why you are doing it over

Oil passes through the head gasket as well. Perhaps it is just a poor quality gasket or the mechanic had a bad day.... Depending on where the head came from, I doubt the valve seals are bad. However.... there are reviews on EBay regarding some heads missing seals, occasional valve spring. Depends where it came from but I bet you lunch at TacoBell it’s just a gasket.... it will be obvious.

What about burning oil tho? Could that be fro. Head gasket? I’m worried about the lower end would testing compression now be useless?

I believe the timing chain jumped? How do I tell? Crank at 0 then the two dots and the one dot lined up?
    EAFE67E7-0516-45C8-AA55-DC2956846637.jpg Recent pic of timing
    B8845D75-C554-44AB-99B6-1277241540D5.jpg Old picture of timing.

Disclaimer: after reading and researching I believe that the marks on the chain is for install only. So as far as I’m aware the timing is okay. Crank at 0 cam positioning the two dots with the one dot. And the sprocket.

If the gasket is bad the oil being pumped to the top of the head could be leaking into the cylinder, being burnt. You are fine with the timing.

they should line up, but you might not be at TDC on the correct stroke.

My cam shaft line up on the two dots and one dot so that’s good. And the center line on the sprocket is lined up to and 0 at crank
