damn always something. Now to decide on what to do? I wonder if I can just tap the threads out even with the damage. My buddy definitely zipped this one on with an impact without hand tightening back in 2016.

Yea air quality over there is ridiculous.. some of their worst cities just breathing the air is like smoking a pack of cigarettes a day:eek:

When you went with your magnaflow converters did you install them yourself or have a shop do it? I'm thinking I'll just go that route $329 for a 49 state compliant cat. Plus they give a 25k mile emissions warranty

That's a separate bolt tho isn't it? Can you go find a replacement? You idea could work... I've done it a time or two myself when in a pinch but I wouldn't trust it long term

local exhaust shop did it, had two CA compliant Magnaflows welded in for $600 out the door...but that was 4+ years ago now. I imagine they price on them has gone up a bit

Got the replacements. Just don’t know what to do long term you know? Guess I can tap it out for a larger bolt and drill out the hook to fit.

The threads on my tow hook were all jacked up too when I removed them, I assumed it was from one too many recoveries. I had removed them once before when I got the truck to get rid of the bull bar and they were fine, reinstalled them by hand (no impact)...when I took them off again 4 years later to install my All Pro bumper they were pretty messed up.

Interesting. They were definitely fine when I put mine on. I have used the hook once or twice since. I’m tapping it to clean the threads for now.

yeah the tow hook isn't rated for recovery from what I've read on here somewhere...but people with stock bumpers including myself used it for that all the time. Guessing it took a toll on the bolt threads. It's the only thing I can think of as to how mine got messed up anyway.

Yeah I definitely put some lateral force on it once or twice lol. Had to get winched up an rock shelf once from a truck that wasn't straight on (more off to the side) on an ice covered 4x trail. Took some doing, doubt the bolts liked that very much.

I plan to use metric 12.9 grade bolts 70mm length on new tow points with spacers. Need to find a source.
