Makes you wonder if the mechanic who put that together used EBay parts... timing kit for 35 bucks... same with the head gasket. Probably some Chinese gasket made from fortunes in cookies

All of the water ports are plugged w/ crap?!? It looks like it was getting into cylinder 3 on the left side... maybe into cyl 4 too, same area. Actually after zooming way in, 2,3 and 4 are washed in the same area... If those jackets are all plugged with crud you need to address it and I have no suggestions. Don’t appear to be leaking oil though, you need to look at the valve seals

I don’t know much about this engine so please explain for me. Why are some of the holes plugged on the block are they all suppose to be open or some?

    On cylinder one right here?

Those oval shaped ports are what the water runs through to cool the heads. The thing you circled isn’t too bad but look at 2,3 and 4 in that area and you can see the little washed out area of the gasket

I suggest you bring the head to an automotive machine shop, have it decked and the valve seals replaced. Ask around about how to best flush that block because I haven’t a clue. Keep up the fight, I’m done for tonight

They're not plugged. That's restriction holes in the head gasket.

I don't see anything real obvious. I think my next step would be to remove the head gasket and look for leaks between it and the block.

Yeah, your right. Why on Earth would they want to restrict water flow especially on the exhaust side... I’m sure there’s a reason. Never try to outsmart the engineers

It looks like the rings are right possibly I’m really debating if I should just get a new motor. The rings most likely neeed to be done cause of the burning oil. The chain broke so I got to replace that. Head gasket kit what do you guys believe is good?

the hoing in the cylinder looks like the rings aren’t the right size?

    Stock again- rip slug
Watching the work involved on this thread makes me happy I paid someone to do my hg/cylinder head job.

    Best of luck.

P.s my recommendation is oem new on it all, whatever u replace. That's what I did to buy once and cry once. Don't want to tear it all down again to replace all the subsequent gaskets again

Man, looking at that timing chain and such, I really wonder about the rest of the motor. With that kind of weird shit going on, confidence is kinda low. I would be tempted to look for a new/user motor.

@Empty_Lord and @Speedytech7 , what do yall think?

I’d do a full rebuild personally. At least new chains, and have the head gone through... never seen a chain do that on a toyora

It’s been rebuilt already but was of course really bad.
