So about two weeks ago I had a local tire shop install new Wildpeak at3’s in 265/75/r16 size. Coming from the stock tires (2017 TRD OR 24k miles) I was super stoked on getting these as I have heard great things (my step mom has same setup.) anyways, after 3 different tire shops and 8 new tires I was still getting a slight vibration in the seat at 55mph, (didn’t do this with the stock tires.) the tire shop bought the tires back and I ended up switching to KO2’s in the same size. Vibration is gone now. Maybe a bad batch of wildpeak’s? Not sure. But I’ve read on TW of a few similar issues and I’ve also heard people saying they are one of the best tires for the price.

I've had mine for 3 years with no vibration. Only cost me $500 out the door

Trial and error, I say you got lucky on the bgfs as they are notorious for having balancing issues. I ran them for years.

Give it some miles or when you rotate them that's when the issues happen. I hope that's not the case as some have good luck and no issues. I had some good ones and some bad ones.

I had 2 sets, my buddy had 2 sets and another buddy had 1 set. Zero issues balancing. My duratracs required more weight to get balanced. Dont understand why everyone says KO2s have balancing issues, not true at all.

My wife and 82 year old mother in law both drive trucks.

I have no personal experience with the Falkens. But I'm a member on 3 different truck and SUV forums. It seems like they do have bad batches of QC. Most guys love 'em, but every once in a while I read of similar issues. Same with Cooper tires. I've had personal experience with those. Had a set on a Tahoe for a while that I could never get to ride right. We were leaving for a trip to Yellowstone from GA. I sure didn't want to drive that far with rough riding tires. I took the Tahoe and my truck to the tire store and had them swap tires before the trip. They still didn't ride good on the truck, but it wasn't driven on long trips.

I put a set on 16 months and 32k miles ago. They were great but tread life was down to 4/32 as of last week. Since they are rated for 55,000 I received a $300 credit toward a new set of tires. The credit was good for the shop but I went with another set of Wildpeaks.

Only thing I did notice on the first set is one tire had a load of weights in it. I honestly haven’t checked this set yet because the weather sucks, but I’m curious if any of these needed a heavy pack to balance them out.

For those that drive in snow/ice, my results were significantly better with the Wildpeaks vs the KO2s I had before these, which I sold at 20k miles because their winter performance was not as good.

I bought a set about 2 months ago.
Tires run quiet and no vibration even at 110 mph.
Great in the rain and dry but haven't been in snow yet.

Love the tire but you may want to research some more. Its a known fact, I experienced it. They are a high maintenance tire.

Research and google may help you understand and you may change your tune. It's been discussed on here.

Love my Falken Wildpeaks. 265/65/17 only 5K miles on them but they have been great in the Oregon rain and on the BLM roads. Going to hit the snow in the Willamette Forest this weekend with 'em.

Sure. Lots of things have been discussed on here.

I know guys personally and friends of friends that run Ko2s and none of them have any issues. When i go camping with this group, 9 out of 10 rigs run Ko2s, everyone is happy. There is a reason they are the most popular AT tire, dont know why everybody throws mud at them. They are expensive, yes.

I love them for offroading and street driving. No issues in rain or snow. My duratracs were better in snow though, but thats about it.

Thanks for posting. I’m on the fence on which 265/75R16 tires to buy. I’ve been leaning towards Falken, but there are enough of this kind of thread that I’m hesitant. I love the look of the BFG’s, but I really think E rated will ride poorly on such a light truck. What is your assessment of the ride quality going from SL rated to E rated? Any noticeable difference in power or braking adding the extra weight? The stock tires are 35#, Falken 44#, and the BFG 53#.
