For the money this is a great setup. Great Sound / bang for the buck!

    We installed the following:

    1. Image Dynamics CTX65CS - Component Speakers - 100 Watts RMS
    2. Custom 6.5 inch speaker and tweeter mounts.
    3. Double Cab Tacoma Amp and Speaker wiring Kit
    4. Image Dynamics IDQ10V3 D4 wired @ 2 OHM
    5. ********* subwoofer box
    6. ********* hinged amp mounting board with release.
    7. Kicker ZX350.2 - 110 Watts RMS x 2
    8. Kicker ZX400.1 - 400 watts RMS
    9. Alpine 9884 with full speed IPOD connect.

Will be sound deading soon. Trying to decide which product to go with.

add $120 and get some raammat and ensolite and you would be doing a lot better

then get an imprint processor and run things active but then you'd need another amp j/k :D

Not listed on the website....lets say $125

mhm, interesting. well price aside, how does this system look? i am more concerned w/ the speakers and amps, and not so much the HU.

would some jl speakers and alpine amps sounds better and be around the same price? i have also seen people on this forum like the mb quartz, is that a good route to go?

    thanks

I've got a question, in the video and in the pictures, the back of the seats on are on the rear seats. Does the rear seat still fit over the sub? It looks like it's sticking out a littler bit. Other than that, nice looking setup.

Not sure if it was here, or on TN, but I seem to remember reading somewhere about people having issues putting their seat up with this particular set-up, as a portion of the sub surround actually was pressed against the back of the seat. Part of the surround was actually compressed when the seat was back! That cant be good for SQ...lol.

As previously mentioned, I would HIGHLY recommend sound deadening (while you have the truck apart running wires). Even if its a single layer of Raamat and some ensolite.

As far as mids/highs, I have heard the ID components, and didnt particularly care for them.. but thats just preference.

At the end of the day, its all preference. Some like Quartz, some think the highs are to "bright". Some like DLS, some think their too flat (which is the sound I prefer).

Check out a few local shops (if you havent already) and try to listen to different brands yourself. Nothing sounds as good as it does in the store, but you will still be able to "get a feel" for what you like.

A little time researching is alot cheaper and easier then swapping out components cuz your not happy.

There are some really knowledgable people on this site (like atsaubrey & Marv) that are always a huge help. I know Marv would recommend buying the best speakers you can afford, and if forced to compromise, do it on the amp and not the speakers...

Good luck, let us know how you end up.

No, I think he's banned. You can't rep him. Although I didn't see any posts that I thought might have led to it. It could have been deleted.

I've only heard them once. I stopped in at a local shop, where they were being demo'ed for a customer.

I didnt care to much for the mid-range sound. Not sure what it was, but something just didnt seem right to me.

But from what I know most people believe these to be the best comp for the $. Maybe my ears are just broken...lol.

If/when I have an opportunity to hear them installed, maybe my opinion will change...

I know what you mean. I run ID speakers in all my vehicles, and once I heard the CTX sets I was scratching my head. They really are the perfect drivers for 90% of people out there....I though, am in the other 10% and have to run the XS drivers. :D
