I don't have a vehicle those wheels would fit on. AND, you're like 12. Special place in hell for people who steal from children.

@Bannerman do you think we will ever ride bikes again in Charlotte? I've been here 3+ years and this is definitely the worst winter I feel like for us.

You're not wrong, I realized too late that they had not greased the gear at all ( further research shows this is a common problem). Once I greased it up, it started to work again but the damage was done. I also read (after the fact) in the product description that it's not for impact use, only hand tighten. My Dewalt did a number on it, which is what it should have been designed for in the first place. Long story short, I got my money back and I am keeping the now useless tool. But, I'm wondering if I can find a tap and die set large enough to repair these threads.......

dude it sucks so bad, nothings open. I have barely been riding at all. Supposed to do PMBAR again this year in May and (if they dont postpone it) there is no way in hell I would even attempt it. No way I would survive 70 miles in Pisgah right now.

Talk to a good machine shop. Its a common industrial thread. Looks like an ACME thread to me.

If it indeed is an ACME thread, the tooling for that type of machining is crazy exspensive. However the design drive behind ACME is power transmition. The way its engineered is to allow as much surface area contact within the thread face itself.

If an ACME thread failed in that context....its not the thread. You have a raw material/casting issue.

And if thats the case...chasing threads will do you no good.

    Just my .02

The threads look deep but I don't think there is good contact area, I dont think the bearing sits deep enough into the threads. Also, from what that thread I linked said, the metal may be too hard. Maybe I'll just junk it....
