They had ONE box of yellow cake mix in the gluten free section of the baking isle. Nothing of interest in the freezer section. I might venture out to a fancier store tomorrow if I have the time

Yup, challenging just to find the GF section if they got one. So much for havin’ your cake & eatin’ it too. :pout:

also so much fun when there is no dedicated GF section and you gotta hunt through the regular aisles for the right stuff.

...and when you finally find one package you wonder why it’s there? Along with date code, has it been opened etc. Meanwhile someone’s behind you foot tappin’.

So, I was called off work today and I'm going in tomorrow, so I had time to go to a nicer store that has a large gluten free section. They didn't have the krusteaz mix you guys were talking about, but they had lots of blank slate muffin mixes, so I grabbed the cheapest one ($7, yikes) and got a half pint of blueberries. They smell and look great! I can't wait to try them!

trying a little experiment tonight. decided I wanted parmesan chicken but didn't want to wait the hour-ish for it to bake so I diced up the chicken before I breaded it, threw it in the oven with about a 15 minute head start before I got the pasta going. Figure once the pasta is al dente I'll drain it and throw it, some marinara and mozzarella into the baking dish with the chicken and back into the oven to get all melty. So sort of a chicken parm casserole, I guess.

If you ever get a chance to try Ray’s sauce, do it. If I don’t have 6 hours to make my own, I spruce that one up (but not with spruce).

How did it go? I imagine the shorter chicken cook time was great for the noodles?

My girlfriend has a gluten sensitivity. Her hands and chest turn red and burn if she eats it. I’ve been checking here for ideas and recipes. I was in Publix today and found these!! Taste as good as a regular Oreo.

Ray's sauce? The Barilla sauce is just my go-to - easy to find and not too watery to use on a pizza or in pasta.

Turned out pretty good. I think if I scale it back it would be a nice option for a camp meal. I love cooking in the camper but don't want to waste a ton of time doing it or have to deal with leftovers. I used 1 breast, about half a box of pasta and about half a jar of sauce. that gave me about 3 servings for myself, filled an 8x8 baking dish.

Should need a medical certificate to buy those. Some drugs are addictive.

She loved them. Ate 3 when I brought them out haha. I think they're gone now. They weren't terribly sweet, so I thought I'd be able to eat them, but both times I tried I made myself pretty sick, which means this is definitely a fairly healthy mix, which is cool for people who don't have paralyzed stomachs like myself  They weren't very sweet, and tasted a bit like they had corn in them, almost like cornbread and yellow cake had a baby. I liked it! I don't think anyone else really had the desire to try them.
