Do I need to get the extended warranty on a 2019 TRD Sport?

I'm thinking about purchasing my 2019 TRD Sport that I've been leasing, and I'm wondering if I need to buy the VSA (extended warranty). The truck only has 20k miles. VSA would cost me like $2800 or something like that for 5 years/60k. I'll probably hit 60k within 3-4 years.

All my vehicles I purchased, I never bought extended warranty. Maybe it's my luck, but to me it's a waste of money.

Only you can decide if the extended warranty is worth it.

I personally would take that $2,800 and put it in a savings account earmarked for vehicle repair. They would not sell these extended warranties if they did not make money off of them. Odds are in their favor that you will never use it, which is why the offer them for sale!

 

We don't know,,, no one does,, it's a gamble.

That said my buddies that are techs, all highly recommend getting a good factory extended warranty,,,,, I'll take their word for it. (Can't argue with the guy that keeps your machines in top shape)

I'm not anti-insurance. I may have a bit more than I need on some things. But not any extended warranties.

IF you chose to proceed, there are other dealers who will give better deals on the same thing.

And make SURE it's a legit Toyota policy, not some 3rd party shenanigans stuff that just has big Toyota lettering on it.

I didn’t buy one yet but I think extended warranties are a great idea only if you don’t overpay and get a good price on one.
Peace of mind is worth a bit of $$$$ IMO.....

 

I asked the finance director about extended warranty cost. He laughed and said that I am buying a Toyota so do not need it. He then said if it was a Ford absolutely buy it LOL. That speaks for itself.

 

Need? Probably not. But I wish I had bought it while I still could. I plan to keep it for a while.

I wouldn't sweat it. Just additional insurance at the end of the day.

The real question is should you want it? Again the answer is nope.

 

Ive got it on mine. No regrets.

If I didn't I wouldn't be buying a new vehicle but that's just my opinion.

Regardless... You have a few years of your included warranty anyway to put some money away. $83/month will give you $3000 over three years.
