Yes I bought the 26inch two stage and I paid like 900 or something out the door and I have a decent driveway and it works great. It’s light weight so you can throw it around instead of dragging a beast around the driveway. Plus toro had the quick stock which is the best chute control.

Yet another neighbor of mine has a 2009ish Troy-Bilt with a 6HP Tecumseh engine; He came over to help us out yesterday and his machine kicked ass!

Don't fiddle around with a snow-thrower. This is the type that just has a paddle wheel. Good for light snow. Poor on the heavy industrial snow in the MidWest.

Do get a 2 Stage snow blower. Gas powered. Not electric or battery. This is when more power is a good choice.

Suggest to find one with the 120 Vac Electric Start option with a pull start.

I've been using an Ariens 26" wide 2 stage for many years. Its a beast. It walks thru the heavy compacted stuff the snowplow leaves in the driveway. Generally, it starts in 1 or 2 pulls. If not, then the electric start is used.

FWIW, I burn E-10 in it without any issues. In the Spring, I do a thorough cleaning, oil change, drain fuel, drain carb and change the spark plug. Then store it until the next snowfall. I transfer the drained fuel into the lawnmower, so its ready to go. I treat the lawnmower the same at the end of the mowing season.

I've had a Honda for over 10 years, and that was the last time I looked at anything else. As far as I know, the rest are all belt driven, which isn't good enough for weekly blowing of a 300 yard driveway, plus sidewalks.

Are new Toros easy to find parts for? I like my little 3521, but I just think that at this point it is more economically feasible to pull the trigger on a brand new one...

My Toro 3521 has the 120V electric start (I know it operates by plugging it into an extension cord; Forget exact voltage)…

You are preaching to the choir with regards to buying a 2-stage!

After the mid-December storm, my neighbor accidentally sucked up a door mat with it, and luckily his nephew was able to get it out...

That is a 6P issue before the snow storm.

I've read and heard some good things about Ariens, but they are NOT cheap; One guy on my culdesac who's got the longest driveway in the whole neighborhood has a new Ariens that probably measures close to 30"!

My Ariens is ST624E. 6 Hp, 24", 2 stage, Electric/Pull start. Purchased in 2008. It has moved tons of snow in its life while in several snow states, IA, WI, IL. I don't recall what I paid for it, but I do remember the LOML was unhappy with the spend.

    The 6Ps?
Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

Your neighbor should prepare for the snow storm. Remove welcome mats, move the cars......clear the obstacles that can be hidden by the snow or hinder the removal.

No, but I've got a funny story for you...

Everybody knows what "LOL" means, except my Grandma's friend; After a friend's relative died, my grandma's friend sent them a text saying "LOL" thinking it meant "Lots of love"...

    :facepalm::rofl:
