do they still do that? my eye doc doesn't

ive known folks that have done it and they never had any issues. i guess the biggest complication is if you get any dust or particled in your eye before they close the flap back over at the end of the procedure.
i think id like to at some point but i was told my eyes need to stabilize for i think 2 years before i could be a candidate - basically my vision cant get any worse for 2 years. i'm almost there, last june my script didn't change from the previous year

    Heckin'

There is no sidewalk on this side. Probably got some nice tire tracks in the grass though

    i'm too young for you

    that was Chuck's fault

They usually do it if you go to a specialist, like an ophthalmologist. It allows them to see the retina and the rest of the eye in more detail. Some optometrists do a dilation for a regular exam, but you usually pay extra for it.

I hate to be the guy peeing in the proverbial bowl of Cheerios. My brother and my wife's co-worker have had complications from LASIK. But that is the exception, as I understand it. My brother was probably not a good candidate, as he has other serious eye issues like me. I won't do it, but that's me and I likely couldn't get it done now if I wanted to.

my doc does a thing that takes a picture of the back of your eye - you stick your head into this thing and theres a rest for your chin, you move your head around until this pinpoint of light is visible through one eye, it snaps a pic and then you swap to the other eye. the machine can tell when it has a clear view and your head is properly aligned, theres like a little bull's eye thing that flashes. it wont fire if youre not lined up right

They have to dilate my eyes as I have a retina problem - very thin and very small microscopic tears in it. Makes driving at night a real treat when I come across those yahoos with the led/hid bulbs in a halogen housing!

I get that too. There is a red cross that comes into focus. Mine also takes photos, and he also dilates.

Urinate away! All surgeries are serious, even the minor ones. I worked with a toolmaker about 10 years ago that had LASIK. Didn’t go well. He was never able to stop seeing haloes and ended up with a very bad case of dry eyes.

I know what you mean. The retina in my left eye has detached 3 times, including twice in a few weeks a few years ago. The doctor tried to laser it back on the first time. When that failed, he put a band around it and lasered the heck out of it. He then filled the eye with a gas, that held the retina against the eye wall until it kind of stuck. The result of that was a cataract, which had to be removed and then a follow up surgery to remove the gas from my eye. When I approach a vehicle with headlights, there is a glare, like a halo effect, very similar to having a cataract. It is very difficult to see until they pass. I am sure me LED headlights are a treat for others like me. The good news? You can legally drive with one eye, at least in my state.

C-bus. Born and raised. Which school in DAyton? I know he area well from doing band contests and indoor drumline shows

I do have the tin ear as they call it...mid-level ringing all the time thanks to the 80's metalhead "bravado" of not wearing ear plugs...

and O also don't play 6 string guitar "in public"...but gladly play bass and drums all the time

I hear ya...around here, if the humidity goes up to 80% or higher, people are paralyzed driving-wise...it is sad

4" of snow is like the apocalypse if you are watching the news :duh:

Fairborn High School, class of '87. Went to Wright State. Had a lot of friends in the Fairborn and Fairmont (Kettering) bands.

It's sad that all of your schools trophies are from band competitions because your football team sucks, but it was what it was.
