    gasket most likely. ask the seller to put the flange on a straight edge.

    Stay away from the jba long tubes. Their design with the runner that sticks out from the flange. "to help make a better seal with a aftermarket gasket" sucks in my opinion. I was never able to get them to seal properly.

    the flange design will not touch the head, so only the runners are contacting. makes it very hard to get them flat on the head.

    as a design that is prone to leak id rather have stock manifolds. urd headers have been great for me. if you dont need to fuss with emissions i dont see a better option. even if you need testing theres a way around that.

    Being that the soot is located at that specific runner, on the driver side header, the biggest culprit in my opinion, is that due to the location of that front most header nut. It was not secured properly.

    Difficult position to reach without either a flex head ratchet wrench, or swivel head ratchet with a swivel extension.

    I think the power gains are minuscule on normal longtubes vs equal length headers.

    i dont have as much experience comparing. my thoughts were try to buy the best i knew of the 1st time.

    I agree but for me the urd headers weren't made before. I went from gen 2 long tubes to the equal length headers which were a protype so the routing is a tad longer on the tubes per gadget. Was worthy to upgrade.

    @TRON I agree actually. I consulted a guy I know and he said going to full EL over a high-flow setup, you're looking at like 2% gains, max. I believe him. Although his specialty was turbo and 4cyl engines, so maybe there's more to be had for V6 and supercharged. I will be doing before and after data logs in any case

    So, drilling out the one broken header to y-pipe bolt is going about this good right now. B43E0C13-316C-40DF-97A5-A638038FA14C.jpg

    Tried drilling it while on the truck but couldn’t get it centered with the y-pipe attached so I went to pull that to have more room to work. All others were seized and snapped off. FML

    Side note I didn’t think getting the headers off was too bad. Should have just ordered some long tubes when I found the first broken one but have a trip starting a week from today so no time or money to just replace them

    Since there's a lot of header talk going on, what is the best way to seal the URD EL's? Gasket, RTV? Have some URD's in route.
