people can tell you, but it's best if you figure it out for yourself...that way you're not waiting for someone to tell you about a play or when to exit a trade...

last 2 years or so...401k and roth is all through work. I let the accounts handle it...been thinking about self managing the roth and moving a lot of those monies into divy plays...just haven't gotten around to it.

the last 2 years is the RH/options...started with divy plays for passive income (taxable, but money in my pocket now). Been playing options a lot more recently.
The market is a big fat casino right now...lot of opportunities to turn a buck.


seems like a few of you guys around here have been in the game a while and know what you're doing...

i ended up making some spreadsheets for that...although not nearly as comprehensive at that website.

tastytrade has a pretty good options interface...although i haven't really been using it much lately.

also thinkorswim lets you paper trade (i.e. place your moves, but with fake money so you can see how things play out...)you can use that for practice...

I'm 44. Started in on my employer offered 401k at age 30. When I first got in, our fund choice options were VERY limited. I got scared and was stupid in '08 and lowered my contributions. Took me until '10 to decide to raise them back up.

About 7 or 8 years ago my employer switched the management of our 401k over to Fidelity. That was the best thing they've ever done for us. Much better fund options and about 4 years ago they setup the Fidelity Brokeragelink option to our 401k's. I'm currently split about 60/40 between mutual funds and individual stocks. My company sponsored HSA is also with Fidelity now. I keep a lump of that in cash but the vast majority is invested in some Fidelity Tech fund (I forget which one)...but it's done well for me.

I manage all of it and I manage the wife's 401k too. Her employer uses Fidelity as well, but no Brokeragelink. Hers is all in mutual funds.

We also have a brokerage account with Fidelity. That is what I mainly use to play around with stocks.

It's super convenient for me to have almost all of our accounts with Fidelity. I wish her employer would move their HSA's to Fidelity.

You're good. It'll take about another 7.5b years for the earth to get absorbed into the sun. Moon will be around roughly that amount of time (give or take a couple hundred million years)
