Shouldn't you be in the 2nd gen forum ;P

You might eek a little out on the UCA if it doesn't extend past the joint like the stock part, but most of the UCAs don't appreciably alter the geometry.
Again, excluding LCAs, long travel, that one belly pan thing that shifts the LCA mounts forward, etc.

GATEKEEP warning... I'm not worried about the mall-crawlers, they don't seem to care if they rub anyway.

If the point of this thread is to get a good looking wheel built for the 3rd gen tacoma, I'm also not worried about universal fitment.

Understanding that different manufactures' tires are sized differently for the same dimensions (super irritating), take the largest of whatever size fits after adjusting offset appropriately, and then everything lesser should just fit.

I'm just here for the wheels man leave me alone :bananadead:

Lol I was just thinking of it in terms of aftermarket UCAs bowing out more so than the OEM ones. not necessarily changing the suspension geometry itself, but changing the allowable room for the wheel to turn before rubbing on it.

Ultimately, tying into your statement about mall-crawlers...I think a "perfect fit", while ideal, would be overlooked/ignored by most enthusiasts who have loftier goals than fitting the largest wheel with absolutely no other mods. Which would only leave the normies, who most likely would have road-driven vehicles only, and then would probably just opt for their favorite looking wheels, or wouldn't care enough to even want to change their wheels.

That'd leave manufacturers to either make only one overly popular style wheel in that "ideal" dimension, or offering a whole bunch of different styles as such, neither of which I would think are too profitable. But I'm not businessman or engineer, so what do i know lol

I want enough wheel to clear the calipers and then fill the rest of the no rub, full stuff, lock-to-lock room with rubber. ;)

Excuse my ignorance, but if looking to just upgrade from he 2021 Tacoma OR rim, no lift, stock suspension, which rim are we (me) looking at...16" or 17" (at +10 offset I suspect, since that is what factory rim is?). Just trying to get educated as I don't like ANY of the rims Toyota offers with their 2021 OR model. Tks.

Could be wrong, but I think the factory 16" OR rim is a +25. If that helps.

+0mm offset!! I feel like this might be the best option for maximizing stance and minimizing modifications for my 4R.

First post, but I’d like to get in on a group buy or pre-order. I’ve been looking into wheel and tire options recently for upgrading from stock.

    Hey guys!

Got my hands on a couple of production pictures and figured I’d share them with you. First picture is of the wheels before the “Flow Forming” process - which similar to how a clay pot is made - rollers move down the barrel with tremendous pressure “Forming” the inner barrel and casting the material to the desired width along a steel mold. The process allows for a reduction in weight while still maintaining durability and strength.

Wheels before the Flow Forming process:

The following pictures are of a production sample to showcase the finish and concave profile. One new option we will be offering is the choice between a blank red or blank color matched center cap that goes on before adding the engraved color matched plastic center piece (which has the red lettering). This will give the effect of the red ring around the letters with the blank red center cap or no red ring with the color matched blank option (see last two pictures for reference examples).

Still working out some of the details of the group buy/pre-order but I’ll be sure to post something within the next week or so. Also, hoping to get some pictures of them mounted on a Tacoma/4Runner from our marketing team

Don’t let that one idiot scare you from sharing on 4runners.com.

These wheels look great. I’m excited to see what the bronze finish will be like. Bronze looks great on the magnetic grey color vehicle.

Depending on your tires and if you have mud flaps, you should be okay with the +0 offset. Given the width of the 17x8.5 wheels the negative might cause some rubbing.

    We got you covered

Oh not scared at all! Was just about to head over and update the fellas on the 4Runner forum. You’ll always have people hesitant or weary of “new” companies/products. Personally, I think it’s good to test/question these things as it helps vet future products. Plus, we relay all your feedback to our production team to continuously enhance or wheels.

FWIW, I’m lurking, don’t know a thing about wheels, might be tempted to go bronze as my truck is MGM, feel like I need to learn a ton about offsets, don’t think I’d ever pay retail prices on pro wheels, and I think I’d really only want 16’s. But again, I don’t know much about wheels.

I should be able to get a final weight next week. Current estimates are 22-23 lbs.

    OEM’s are 25.5 lbs

I’m also new to the purposefully buying wheels/tires game; if I were to get 265/70/17 and use this 0 offset, would anyone anticipate fitment problems on a stock 2020 OR Taco?

I’ll also keep digging to see if I can find the answer for myself in some previous thread.

Edit: Looks like it will likely not be a problem, based on the few related threads I saw, but I welcome any confirmation/input.
