I have the URD supercharger. I highly recommend this one over the Magnuson. Also, URD is based out of MD and can get you squared away. Just out of curiosity, what makes one better than the other? Did you have a Magnuson before the URD? I get that it's nice to have a local tech, but other than that, how does it perform better?

 

URD uses a ROTREX centrifugal supercharger. Magnuson uses a traditonal root style TVS1900. Centrifugal superchargers allow for more adjustability and tuning, and also don't take up as much room in the engine bay. I have plenty of room in there for my accessories. I guess it comes down to personal preference. Also the URD supercharger is $4,999, the Magnuson supercharger is $6,500. URD built their kit from the ground up for the 3.5l in the Tacoma, whereas it seems as if Magnuson simply used a generic supercharger and made it work on the 3.5l motor. URD specializes in Toyotas, so I trust their expertise over a company who works on many makes and models. Also the power curve is so much better on the URD vs Magnuson.

Need: no. Want: possibly. I guess it makes the truck more bearable with all the extra weight and mods. All that power might not be necessary, but it certainly is nice to have the HP and FT/LB of a Tundra in my Tacoma.

I like having the power of a Tundra in my Tacoma. I know you're going to tell me I should've bought a Tundra, but my response to that is I like the size of a Tacoma. I bought it with the intent on adding power.

 

I should've drove it last night. Did the vibration start after you installed the new rack? Do you feel the vibration in the steering wheel or in the whole truck?

 

I see you're in Annapolis. Let's meet up and I'll let you drive my Tacoma this weekend. I live in Dunkirk.

 

So I drank the koolaid and got @dave5623 s tune. Got the same one as @Russty__ and it's fantastic! Definitely a must have if you have 33s and your truck is searching for gears. I've had it for a couple weeks now and I'm seeing much better performance and even better milage! Definitely worth the $250
