Same here. I got a couple when I got the bigger trans cooler for the 4runner but haven't installed them yet. One for the trans, one for power steering.

 

Still the OEM sandwich heat exchange cooler! Do the LCs have a fancy oil cooler?

 

That's pretty fucking cool! Didn't know you could do that just by changing the crank phasing or whatever with the timing chain setup.

 

The 1FZ has a big internal plate cooler bolted to the block, the taco has the dumb tuna can, and the 135i has an engine oil cooler about 2x the size of your trans cooler and 2x as thick. I want to put a traditional oil cooler on the taco and the cruiser. It's easy to remove the tuna can, but tough to remove the plate cooler without making some custom flanged lines.

 

I'm less concerned with an oil cooler for the 4runner than trying to keep the trans cool, especially during the extreme AZ heat in the summers here. And I have no way of monitoring engine oil temps to see if they are getting drastically high or not. But, it wouldn't be a bad idea. Just need to find a good place to mount a cooler and figure out how to plumb it in.

I want to get a larger trans cooler too. The current one is better than the tiny OEM one (now the PS cooler) but could be bigger I think, considering the environment I have chosen to live in.
