Okay, Thanks to those who helped or contributed to my last post! I got them & used a pair of needle nose pliers to pull that grommet/collar out kind a mangled the OG knob just a little, Also on my second try I got frustrated & kinda bent the collar into an oval, so it wasnt in its original state! I reformed with a disposable chop stick, but it wasnt perfect anymore, I managed to get it in the AJT knob with out to much fuss, but upon installation in the truck I noticed it was pretty tight going on,I tried pulling it off, but it was stuck! about 7/8 on just enough to be hard to take off!I used a rubber glove to get a better grip on the knob to pull off. That did the trick! I figured Id have to pull out the collar again to straighten it out(make it rounder)so install & removal would be easier,so i got a Qtip gooped with vaseline to help ease the removal! everything was going fine, til I was prying it with a small screwdriver, a kind of flicking Motion! Then Flick,Fling! "click, click" I heard it fly across the the room & hit the far wall Behind a book case! UGH! I should have covered it with a towel or something! So Now im searching quite unsuccessfully behind said bookcase! Luckily I have the third Dial still intact! I leave the lost one for now behind the bookcase! It was misshaped any way! Yeah this has been a pretty frustrating experience!
Has Anyone tried this Mod,using tape instead of using those stupid clips/collars!! Please Let me know how it went! I was just thinking why Doesn't AJT just make these with the perfect size opening?!?!! It cant be that hard! Any way Thanks for any input you have.
Sorry for the long post! Im just procrastinating dismantling/ cleaning my room where the clip flew!
    THANKS!!

Just want to mention something I noticed the other day cleaning my stove,i know you’re thinking wtf are you talking about.. the knobs on my stove possibly yours also has the same style clips that are on the ajt knobs.you might be able to “borrow “ a clip from there if you need one. Not sure if its the same size but it looks really closeBF96986D-5A04-4EB7-A0C3-2BCA1782A63A.jpg

Ugh! These knobs are cool but that stupid little metal collar in side the OG knob, drive me crazy! as said before I kind of deformed it trying to pry it out! then had to remove it from the new one when it refused to install in the truck, then! flew out as I flicked it out by accident, across the room!
Update: It turned up in my shoe! Whew! Thank God!!! I just about Gave up, on finding it! Not really worth the effort i'd just buy the cheaper ones on Amazon!
I do not reccommend buying these from AJT designs, I still dont konw why he cant make these with the Right size opening, instead of pulling out that stupid collar. It cant be that much trouble, redesigning it to fit without it! I boycott them, import ones on amazon are just fine!!

Funny that y’all can’t get a simple clip out of the oem knob. A simple pick and they come right out. Then they slip right in the AJT knob.

I know, I know. I guess I should have mentioned, I only have use of my right hand. I'm doing this with 1 hand & some vise grips to hold the OG knob! However difficult not impossible. I was able to get them out, but it proved to be very frustrating! Sorry I should have metioned it in the OP.

Well then that’s make sense completely. You definitely need both hands. They’re in there snug.
