O.P. IF you are topping off after the nozzle clicks,it will cause your gas gauge too freeze up,BUT after you turn off the truck and then restart it the next day or so ,your gauge should be back too working correctly, thats what happened too my 06 when I owned it.

I don’t; I just did it this time because I thought there was something wrong with the gas pump; I had a legit issue with a Wawa gas pump last year while refueling my company’s 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. It was below a quarter of a tank, but it was click and stop pumping after a few seconds and I had to start the van to monitor the gauge while I filled it up...

My mechanic is helping me install OEM-style aftermarket foglights on my truck next Monday; My truck was in a parking lot last September, and while the other driver's insurance company paid for a replacement bumper, it was an aftermarket bumper. It looks fine, but I am concerned that it might not have brackets/mounts for foglights; Do I need to buy brackets from the dealer or would this bumper have places behind the opening for the foglights to mount them?

Don't drive on those often, but now that I think about it, I do remember seeing the signs when I was driving to a car show...

Luckily, it looks like I'm exempted from Philly's exorbitant sales tax since I ordered online!

For my readers living outside of Pennsylvania and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania charges a 6% sales tax on everything; Within Philly, it jumps to 8%. I found this out the hard way more than eight years ago when I in the city for a field trip in college, and I bought a shitload of munchies at a mall kiosk for the bus ride home; The extra 2% really hits you where it hurts, which is why I generally avoid buying things in the city!

I just remembered this incident from like six or seven years ago; Doylestown Health (which runs the Doylestown Hospital) sponsors the purchase and rehabilitation of an old house every year in Bucks County (I'm 99% they cancelled it in 2020 due to the pandemic, but I'm pretty sure I haven't been to one since 2016)…

Actually, it was two incidents; One of the most obnoxious rules about this even is that photography is not allowed inside the house, presumably because they are afraid people are going to steal the design ideas. Photography and videography outside the house is permissible, and from 2009 to probably 2015 I never had a problem; From 2008 to 2015, I had an obsession with HVAC (which including the filming of central air-conditioners and heat pumps for YouTube videos). I forget which incident happened first at the design house (it was 2013, 2014, or 2015; I forget), but we'll start with the multiple camera incidents...

That was one of those rare times where I drove from elsewhere and met my parents there; The even is always held in the spring, from May to June or so, and it was in the 90s that day. I was not about to leave my $700 Nikon camera in the truck when it was time to go in the house; I have always been very respectful of the "no photography inside the house" rule for the most part, though I have been known to sneak a few photos of things with my phone if I have absolutely have to take pictures. I've never had an issue with that...

There is no rule against bringing a camera into the house, but the house was staffed by elderly female volunteer ushers who wanted to feel important; On at least three occasions, I was rather obnoxiously reminded by three different platinum-haired old women about the no photography rule. On the second or third time, I was still keeping my cool, but I responded in a rather abrasive and impatient way...

Fast-forward several minutes; Outside the house, yet another old lady and her friend approached me and reminded of this rule, and I blew up at them. It was then that I realized this was not one of the volunteers and just another person who'd paid to see the house, and I felt bad; I immediately apologized for my hostile response, explained that I'd dealt with several egotistical volunteers inside the house and thought she was one of them. She told me she understood completely, actually agreed with me, and we parted ways on good terms.

Incident number two involved the filming of one of the large home’s central air-conditioners; I was filming the thing, and this woman who seriously looked like Dolores Umbridge came up behind me, promptly startling me, and demanded to know what I was doing...

The air-conditioner was an older Lennox unit if I remember correctly, which was the primary reason I was filming it; These homes were generally older and some didn’t have central air, and even if they did, the older units were generally replaced; So, when I see an older unit in operational condition I jump at the opportunity to film it! The unit was located on the side of the house, and not in a restricted or off-limits area, but getting close to it required walking through so plants.

The reason I say the woman looked like Dolores Umbridge is because she freaking did! For those of you who do not know, Dolores Umbridge is the sociopathic Ministry of Magic employee from the Harry Potter franchise who made her debut in the fifth novel (Order of the Phoenix) as the temporary headmistress of Hogwarts. She was later the Minister of Magic for one year before being imprisoned for life as punishment for her crimes against humanity. She was described as a short, middle-aged woman and was notable for her obsession with the color pink. She dressed almost entirely in pink, and this is what led to me referring to the lady at the designer house as “Dolores Umbridge” when I tell this story!

I highly doubt the woman who confronted me for filming the air-conditioner was a sociopath, but she was still kind of a bitch and her physical description along with her distinctive clothing fit the HP character perfectly!

Sooo, I immediately shut off the camera and told of the best lies I’ve ever told; I told this lady that I’d see a really cool-looking bird perched on the A/C unit, and that I was trying to get a really good picture of it. I also told her that it had flown away when she approached, and she believed my story; I apologized for walking through the plants, and aside from sternly admonishing me for doing that in the first place and telling me to stay out of there, she was satisfied with my explanation and walked away without incident!

I would be fairly confident it does. If it still has the little plastic covers then it absolutely should. The covers are held in place by the same bracket as the actual fog light.
Was the first mod to my truck and now I have diode dynamics for all of the light. Freaking love fog lights, you'll be happy.

And then this reminds me of the incident with the security guard at the outlet mall in East Stroudsburg back in October 2010; My cousin was going to college up there, and my parents and I drove up there for a visit.

We went to this outlet mall; It was nice out and I had no interest in shopping, so I wandered around taking pictures. My parents had just bought me my very first SLR camera, Nikon D3000, for Christmas in 2009 and I was using the hell out of it!

After a good thirty or forty minutes of wandering around taking pictures, a mall cop who literally looked just like John Candy in his role as the Wally World security guard in National Lampoon’s Vacation showed up.

I had absolutely no idea that there was no photography allowed on mall property, and my issue has always been with attitude rather than ridiculous rules. A simple “no photography on mall property, please cease and desist” would have sufficed, but this egotistical John Candy lookalike had to flaunt his authority and it took a lot of restraint for me not to tell him to go fuck himself.

He tried to force me to put my camera back in my car, and I told the half-truth; I stated that I’d come with parents, they had the keys to the van, and on top of that I didn’t know where the van was parked. The only lie was that I was incapable of reaching my parents, but this prick took me at my word; However, he finished with the stern warning that if I was observed taking pictures on the property again, me and my whole family would be asked to leave...

For a first offense, seriously? It’s not like I was disrupting anybody or doing anything dangerous! Like I said, I almost said some very unkind things to this guy, but I didn’t want to ruin the trip for my parents and cousin...

Not ten minutes later, I was on the phone with my grandmother, and the same John Candy lookalike appeared out of nowhere with another security guard; They didn’t approach me, but I guarantee you the prick was following me and making sure I didn’t take anymore pictures. I did take a picture of the family van in the parking lot of the mall with the Pocono Mountains in the background after the confrontation with John Candy, and used it in a YouTube video, as a final “fuck you” to the mall and and it’s rent-a-nazis...

Because of that and a number of other incidents that occurred between September 2009 and February 2014, I still have a blistering disdain for security guards (with few exceptions) that persists to this day!

And I got the complete kit on Amazon for less than forty bucks, paid for almost entirely with a gift card my boss gave me for Christmas, after the stealership quoted me $260 apiece for just the foglights!

My mechanic who is doing the install made the following gesture after I told him what the dealer was charging...
