A quick tip is to thread the nut on and hit the nut instead of the stud, glad you got it worked out. Did this to my cv axle once, luckily it wasn't bad and was able to use a thread file to bring it back to life. A good thread file is a great tool to add to the arsenal

Looks good! Love the front bumper you made.

A punch works great to adjust the kings, I made the mistake of buying a spanner wrench and not the T-style punch from kartek

Baja 2.jpg Baja 3.jpg Baja 7.jpg I just bought a wrecked '12 Baja Edition, picked it up Monday, and made a trip to the local junk yard for parts yesterday. I think I got everything I need to get it on the road.
The truck was hit left rear, breaking the magnesium rim and sliding the leaf spring rearward. The impact broke the drum and the spring pin so the leafs are all skiwampus. The diff slid so far back on the left that the driveshaft dropped. The back spring perch is shoved into the spare tire.
As long as the driveshaft and axle are straight, and the bearing is good, I think I should be able to just replace some simple parts and go. Put the leaf spring back together and straighten the spring perch and drive on the spare locally for a while to see if the truck is road worthy.
Any comments are welcome. Hints on what to check or how to make things right are always appreciated.

Picked up feed pans for the chicken farm. Only problem with my DCSB is well.. the SB. Few packs had to ride in the cab with me. Still wouldn’t trade her for anything! Lol

Damn that doesnt look bad at all. You might have found a steal!. frame may be a little off but hopefully the leafs and hangers took all the force and didn't bend the frame with them.

Is the axle still good? Also you can get a archive or BAMF shackle hanger to replace the factory ones.

No idea if the axle is good. I suppose it could be bent, and can the bearing be bad? I got one out of a burnt truck so can the bearing be replaced on that one? Thanks for the suggestion on the shackle hangers. We'll see if they are necessary.

Just putting townie miles on the truck for my new gears break-in. So happy with how those “viper cuts” came out. Functional and aesthetically pleasing to me for sure

Whoa... I checked out the BAMF hangers and I think for that price I can weld up some of my own or use what I have.
