Reading lips as a lifesaver, most of my hearing loss is in the low mid-range basically where half of all human voices exist.

on the plus side of communication, musicians are freaking rock stars both literally and figuratively when it comes to that. On the downside, I'm a bass player... The irony is not lost on me

Yessir. Good thing is those low frequency waves can actually be felt through the floor with a good sub on stage, or in my case at home, either through quality studio headphones, the bass itself, and/or the neighbors get to hear me play.

 

Sweet, I was looking at a PA system for the shop......and other reasons, but I digress.
Amazing since I last looked at equipment. Everything seems so much less expensive than back then.

 

much that once was has faded into the past, and much that is is so... Very different even from 5 years ago.

but some things still hold true. You can't beat a set of Yamaha PA speakers. You just can't. Not for the money, not for the show.

Some days I feel like that’s been half my career. They’d make a big deal out of time tracking so we’d all do it for a week since it was “very important”. I then quit doing it.. no one noticed for 6 months.
