Having visited the website and checked it out, I have to ask for the backstory on the "triple D" truck. Especially major Tom on the side.

I wrote some books (trilogy) dealing with a plague originating IN CHINA... (wrote the first one in 2008) and a couple other sci-fi books. Self publishing is tough, so my editor and I have been trying everything we can to sell books, and thus the website. We were getting some decent traffic and I decided we needed to make a run to Hollywood and see if we could get any interest in a movie deal. The first book would make a good, cheap movie and done right it could make the second two worthwhile. So I figured the truck would draw some attention driving around Southern California, got the wrap done... and then Covid hit and here we sit. Of course Major Tom is an homage to David Bowie and his song, Space Oddity, inspired by our e-mail, ground control.
I've suggested to my editor who takes care of the website that the books are too hidden and need to be on the front page, but she hasn't gotten around to changing it yet.

Well the truck definitely worked for me... Come break time I'll be buying all three! Any chance I could find a signed copy somewhere? I like supporting authors directly if I can.

Thanks for the compliment... If you buy the e-books as a download (less expensive), and if you feel like it write a review or three, I'd be glad to send you a signed paper copy of whichever one you like the best. I'll also send you a copy of Genetica so you don't have to buy it if you'd like. Keep in touch.

Thank you! I'll be buying physical copies, not big on e-reading. A bit old fashioned, but nothing beats the feel of paper when you're deeply engrossed in a book. Plus the book won't vibrate or ding with a notification...

Yeah, I don't much like the e-books either.
By the way, Am-azon has rules about an author asking for a review, so I can't. All I can say is that if I get 50 reviews on a book Am-azon will kick in some better algorithms.
So thanks for whatever you can do.

Makes sense, I'm curious if you have any pictures of the truck before you saved it? I want to see how bad the damage was to take it to a scrap yard!

I bought it as a total from an auction. It was a white sewage treatment utility truck, and got rear ended on the left rear. I don't have any pics. Damn, I never seem to think of that. I had to weld a replacement frame rail in a little rear of center of the leaf spring, and I pulled the original quarter out with a come-along. New bumper, tailgate from a burned truck, nerf bars, a headache rack I built, and I added a hitch to stabilize the new frame as much as needing the hitch for towing. This is the side that was damaged before the graphics were applied. A shot with some overlay from the guy that did the wrap.AO truck.jpg
