2022 Frontier’s tailgate doesn’t look a thing like Tacoma’s. Not at all.

    And the wheels.
    And the fender flares.
    And the rear bumper.
    And the lower door shaping.
    And the tailgate spoiler.
    And the flagship cement-like color.

Honestly, just take a side view of the new Frontier. Crop the top half of the truck out so you only see from about the door handle level and down. Place that image next to a similarly cropped Tacoma image.

    Just try it.

The thing is it's 10 years late and it's already out of date.

I’m not sure why people are crying ‘copycat’.. have you seen the car industry in general?

    It’s a copycat industry.

    Competition is a good thing.
If Toyota’s #1 spot in the mid size market gets cut down, watch how fast they’ll slap disc brakes on the truck, and add on a bunch of other ‘premium’ shit. Then they’ll sell it to you as some sort of advantage.
If the GM twins or the Ranger threatened the crown, Toyota would have slapped discs on the mid cycle refresh.. but they didn’t.
Healthy competition forces companies to do better, and gives more power to customers.

The front I see GMC Canyon, side profile Tacoma and the rear F150. It does look good though. I would have checked out the Frontier if it hadn't been ancient when I bought my Tacoma.

Reliability will take a few years to establish but without a CVT it should be ok.

Resale will definitely be lower than a Tacoma. Hopefully one of these will be at least a couple thousand less comparably equipped.

Except... no CMC on the Nissan because it's a hydraulic cab mount lol. Let me know when a fire wrench can insert a hydraulic cab mount!
