Bad part about this thread is that there are no detailed pics. Click on the link in my signature to a link on how to do this mod.

I didn't have the patience for it, but my wife was able to get them out. For the driver's side, she jiggled and the slid it towards the center, then rotated it clockwise about 90 degrees, then it came out. The passenger side was just the opposite. Hope this helps, but its hard to explain. Just remember how you got them out, because you have to do the steps in reverse order to get them back in. It's more of a hassle to get them back in.

Alright so I eventually got them out and finished painting/resealing them. Is there a special way to put the headlight bulb back in with that metal latch? I couldn't figure out how it's supposed to keep the bulb from moving...

Did you consider using silicone caulking around the lens instead of electrical tape? Wonder if that would work .... Like a silicone caulk you get at Lowes...

Does anyone have this as well as aftermarket HID's? I know it is unlikely, but just wondering if this ever became an issue with the added heat from the bulbs?

Yes it does decrease the light output. But not too bad. HID kit will help or if ya have fogs.

5lug a beed of silicone around the light helps keep moisture out and so they wont fog up.
