Not true. I believe the 3rd Gen SR models don't even have cruise control. Touch screens started in 2013. As per carplay, real men can live without that, TSS is pretty lousy considering the Tacoma doesn't come with lane keep assist (doesn't swerve you back), They definitely have bluetooth with aux, and they'll be fine without a warranty. Toyota dealers always trying to find a way to void warranties so its also pretty useless

I was highly disappointed in the TSS system. The lane assist just beeps at you to merge back but the TSS on our Rav4 actually merges you back all by itself. 3rd Gen interior is pretty much the same other than the small screen inside the gauge cluster.

My 2021 SR has radar adaptive cruise control. Real men don’t need lane assist, CarPlay, however, is dope. Real talk though, I drove a 2nd gen for nearly a decade and this SR blows it away with creature comforts.

Only sucky thing is you can’t find an sr in 4 door long bed. My local dealer is getting a 4 door long bed white sr5 soon and I told them to let me know when they get it in. It’s $40,900 out the door. Might pull the trigger with a couple grand down!

True. I searched 2 months for a longbed, tried to order one from 8 different dealers. When I said order me a 2021 SR 4x4, all of a sudden it was easy and they discounted it without me asking. Better margins on the SR? Maybe

What state are you buying in? That price is not great. I was getting quotes of around $36k for SR5 DCLB 4x4 in cement.

2nd Gen TRD Sport has everything an SR has. Dual climate? I can live without that. TSS? I can live without that. Carplay? I can live without that. The door panels on a 3rd Gen are made out of some horrible flimsy plastic that accumulates scuffs real fast. I like the 3rd Gens a lot but the interior plastics gross me out as well.

37 and change before taxes. Then 40,900 out the door.

Price differences aside I’d also consider the 16 year proven bullet proof drive train when looking at my buying options from 05-15 as well. Prices are high where I live but it still made more sense to save the $$, buy used and invest that into mods I’d want to do on a new truck anyway.

I will say the seats in my 3rd gen are shit, my 2nd gen TRD OR seats were far more supportive and firm even after 215k miles. The interior, for me anyways, is way better.

I wish they kept the 4.0, if it’s good enough for the 4runner why isn’t it good enough for the Taco.

Oregon. Before TTL. It actually started at $34,500 then they magically jumped to $36k after a month. Maybe they forgot we had already talked about it....much like my wife.

It's amazing they've used that same drive train for almost 20 years in the 4runner. 3rd gen. would excite me more if it still used the 4.0.

26k for a soon to be 7 year old truck? That is madness.
