I don’t understand how this design is a thing still.

I like it, possibly an upgrade over my 05 double cab hmmmm

Also, hopefully this pushes Toyota to really update our trucks because I feel they're really just resting on their laurels this gen imo

I don't know for sure, but many manufacturers build vehicles to last 5-7 years. The average length an American owns a vehicle before purchasing another. My guess is that the majority of new buyers, which is who they make money on, trade in before it becomes an issue.

I am against this model. I feel as though it is wasteful. But, I respect the consumer's choice and the manufacturers' right to build what the market/law desires/requires.

I know that but my optimistic side decides to ignore the business argument :(

Nissan always has more spunk, this will blow the doors off the Tacoma 3.5

I just hope the frame sits higher, the old model had a really low sitting frame.

I really like the look and even the inside but it think we have to see it in person to know if the interior is done well or with cheap materials. Not a fan of DI only engine with. That would worry be about cleaning it often.

Yeah especially the older nissans. I had a 90 stanza little accord size sedan with a 5speed. That car had the same 2400 engine as the 240sx. It liked to move more than you would have thought. That was when Nissan made really good cars.

I read it’s the same frame so I think that means the frame will still remain low? Or is there some other component that could affect it?

There's no "if". They've already been using this same powertrain for one year in the 2020 Frontier so the reviews have been out. Everyone says the 9 spd shifts smoothly, quietly and that it has plenty of power. Even the old 4.0L V6 has more power and pep than the 3.5L V6 in the Tacoma.

No manual transmission? I'll pass. Don't hate the looks though.

The frame hasn’t changed. It’s the same frame as the old 17 year old truck

    they just changed the body

Hard pass for me always thought Nissan was just throwing something out there to rake in a few bucks but not seriously trying to compete.

I’ve driven many Frontiers as rentals when traveling for work. Overall they are fine. I don’t like the styling or overall design compared to the Tacoma, but it’s better than a Ranger. However that 4.0 engine is really peppy!

Since they are using the same frame I am assuming the Frontier will still have the turning radius of a battleship.

The turning radius on my 2017 DCSB is nothing to write home about.
