You have some solid points makes you wonder if Nissan or say Honda really decided to compete bet that would really shake the market up.

Yeah Nissan has a name problem. It doesnt matter what kind of truck they make it'll never sell big numbers like the tacoma.

When people think of Nissan they think of rental car, or the car on those ads where you can a brand new car for under $15k. I get the ads every week in the mail.

Sad, because I really liked the Titan XD with the Cummins motor. But nobody bought them because of the Nissan name so they discontinued it.

I was reading on this 9 Speed Trans, it is going to be made by zf friedrichshafen, that's the same used by Jeep Cherokee where they did a recall made from march 2015 before... Boy, I hope the germans fix this problem... otherwise, people are going to be pissed off at Nissan yet again.

Ill would have to drive it for myself. I dont put much faith into what other people tell me. And no the old 4.0 with auto trans was a dog in that truck when i drove it. Braking felt worse than the tacoma and steering less direct

It basically looks like a tacoma interior with rectangle vents. Im personally not a fan of alien inspired interior layouts that alot of other brands have.

Which is exactly why I now own a 2021 TRD OR 6 MT. I drove my trouble free XTerra for 305,000 miles, selling it in October. No manual transmission on the Frontier and here I am. Ironically, that’s why I left Toyota in the first place when I looked to replace my 1991 4Runner in late 2005 and the only comparable SUV I could find with a manual was the XTerra, Toyota having removed the manual transmission from the 4Runner. So, I’ve come full circle.

Why? The 2.3 turbo makes more power than the Tacoma's 3.5. And, peak torque is at a much lower RPM. It's actually a MUCH better truck engine than the fake Atkinson 3.5 based on specifications.

I feel like every time a new truck releases a bunch of people start claiming the interior is dated. People said it for the 3rd gen Tacoma interior. I’m not really sure how they define dated. Dated as in it doesn’t have a 20” touchscreen and voice command climate controls? Like what do they want?

I would have gotten a frontier to match our other Nissan vehicle but the Tacoma was a better buy all around.

What's a modern interior look like? What if the manufacturer put two bicycle seats where the buckets are, and replaced the steering wheel with a joy stick.

Few years back a local Nissan dealer was offering to give yoh a new Nissan with the purchase of any new Nissan. I thought it was kind of a gimmick, and believed you still had to pay all applicable fees a taxes.

This is what I think of everytime I hear the name Nissan.
