Somewhat new here and looking for some solutions to the rock chips caused by having wider tires/offset. I am running 265/70/17s with basically no lift and minimal trimming.

Ive seen guys put wider mud flaps on but i am afraid they will make the fronts rub as im not running any mud flaps at the moment. Also, thought about clear protection film... any other ideas?

that the life of having dank stance.

you could try 3m film on the problem spots but its kinda only a temp fix. mud flaps or go back to stock wheels.

    Interesting......

I'm running 265/65-17 on stock Sport rims and mud flaps without rubbing or serious rock chips. The truck does have the protective film on the rocker panels. The wheel offset is +30mm.

Perhaps your offset will needs a wider mud flap. Or stay off roads with rocks................

yeah the wheels im running have 0mm offset so sticks out quite a bit more than stock. probably 1/4 to 1/2 inch outside the fender. i love the fitment but not so much the consequence..

I'm running Husky mud flaps on my front. They stick out a touch more than the factory ones and are more cupped. I did have to cut away the inner part of the flap where it sits on the cab mount because I was rubbing; all good now, and the flaps catch a lot of debris.

Whenever you shift from stock configuration, there is always a compromise somewhere.

You could try finding mud flaps with the broom bristles. These would be a bit lower and may offer a bit more protection by deflecting rocks.

Might be ugly as a mud fence in a hail storm.

My mud flaps are WeatherTech. Perfect fit, match the stock wheel very well.

Any chance you have pics of what you had to trim? curious if it will be worth buying them. i feel as though the part where it mounts to the truck would be where it'd need trimming and i can't really trim the mounting surface..

Mud flaps will do very little. Fender flares are about the only option.

Additionally, I've found that my sliders catch a lot of rocks as well. I frequently hear dings from rocks bouncing off of them and the bottoms are riddled with rock chips in the paint. That may be a big investment though just to help prevent rock chips. It was an unexpected bonus.

Rokbloks are your best bet if you want mudflaps .
