I like long product cycles. It's like dating 21 year olds and just picking a new one every year

Good looking truck IMO. Tailgate and rear bumper do remind of Tacoma but it doesn’t bother me. I hope for the best for Nissan and this new truck.

If Nissan dealers continue to offer sub-MSRP equal to the current Frontier and Titan then they might sell a bunch of them. 2020 king cab S 4x4 was averaging $26k.

It may be the last internal combustion mid-size pickup available if they keep it in production as long as the last generation. :D

I'm just gonna say it. The overseas Nissan Navara equivalent looks better than this frankentruck. Sometimes different markets can enjoy the same product. Nissan would have saved a bunch of money on R&D and Manufacturing by just giving us the the Navara body style with a US powertrain/federal regulations.

IMO, its a good looking truck. The more competition, the better for us.

I like the interior as well. For whatever reason I prefer symmetry in the center stack like the Frontier has and it's more upfront and square. The Taco has more of a elongated asymmetrical shape to it. Again preference thing, not that it's better or worse.

I think for Nissan to work as a brand as a whole it needs to focus more on the truck division because that's where their best vehicles are. The Titan, Armada, and new Frontier (I'm going to speculate it's a good truck) are all competitive when it comes to powertrains, features, pricing. They just updated all 3 so the interior quality and craftsmanship should be better as well. And they might be holding on to V8 platforms longer than Toyota as it seems their direction is v6 hybrid turbos. Nissan needs to rebuilds its reputation around their trucks because you're right, their big sellers like the Altima, Maxima, and Rogue are just utter crap and unfortunately that's what they are most known for. For the Frontier to be successful I don't think it necessarily needs to beat Toyota, it wont, but if it can move 80k-100k units a year in a very crowded segment that would be a success.

I thought I read that the Frontier will be available in a long bed. That will help Nissan move trucks.

It obviously looks great. Only similarly I see is the wheels and a bit of the tailgate. With the looks, engine, tranny, and interior I think it’ll be a good seller. All that plus a lower price point than the Tacoma is a recipe for success.

Nope. I’m sure Nissan will get it closer than it’s been to Tacoma in previous years pricing but they would be short sighted not to continue keeping it less than the taco.

If Nissan would have reworked the front end and the wheel arches, the last Frontier could have been a good looking truck. I'm sure that financially would not have made any sense for Nissan to do that.

Funny the comments made regarding the Frontier's looks. Some should go back and read some of the early threads regarding the 3g Tacoma.

Some call it ugly, didn't like the front grill, etc. How times have changed.

For me all the midsize truck look pretty much the same as far as the tailgates. Time will tell if Nissan has done right with the new engine and transmission. The new Frontier is not enough for me to get rid of my current Frontier.

This I think the 2nd gen tacoma looks like the frontier (from the side) either that or im retarded

Throw on rims on the frontier, black out mirrors/ emblems, throw on a lift, remove the roof racks, and will look pretty good IMO. Would still prefet a tacoma but I dont think the frontier look that bad

I was happy to get a 2.5 gen tacoma with super plastic everywhere in the interior. Its a truck, it will last as long as I keep spraying it with UV protectant, and did I mention its a truck...

rear load floor looks like it could be 100% flat. Almost went with an F150 because of that
