Almost haha. But SIX MILE?!?!? Did the trail nazi's there come out of nowhere and rip you a new asshole for riding in "wetness"? haha they are so anal about protecting the trail integrity of that place which to a certain degree i can agree with. But they way over-protect it IMO. Any little bit of moisture on the ground and they wanna close the trail down :annoyed:

Im down in the Tinton Falls area of NJ so Allaire and Hartshorne are usually my go-to's.

@jjones.yota with the Guide and no bite point adjust you can't get rid of the lever pull travel without losing brake pad clearance. The only way to do that is to pressurize the system which pushes the pistons out so the pads are closer to the rotor and contact with less lever travel. What I think you are describing is lever travel and not actually "mushy" brakes as in air in the system. Do you get good grab once you get to the bite point?

Ok yes. You are correct. Sorry for my poor wording. I still don’t know bike lingo haha.

They bite great, when they bite. It just takes half the lever travel to bite. The first half pull is absolutely nothingness. I’ve felt some brakes that if you slightly bump the lever, it bites. Idk if I want that much, but I would like it closer to that.

Overfill the system and creep the pistons outwards (remove the bleed block). This simulates the act of "pumping" your lever as you're riding towards a braking point

Yeah, that’s basically just taking the wheel off and slightly pulling the brakes to make them move right? A cheaters way I guess lol.

Yes exactly. An alternative is simply finding a psuedo-bleed block that is thinner and an ideal width such as spare brake pad, wrench, etc. And if you express them too far no big deal just push them back in but be careful because excess DOT will also come out. Bleeding brakes is an art that just comes with time

Reminder: Don't contaminate the brake pads! This can send you into a spiral of "WTF is wrong with these brakes?"

Then before you know it you've replaced everything and it was the pads the whole time

Yeah I made sure to keep it all clean. I guess I can do the cheater way.

can you confirm if I’d get a better bite point out of other brakes?

Only have this issue on my new Pipedream and it annoys me. 52t ring only though so not too bad. Pedal forward can fix it usually.

Fezzari was my first guess, but the rear pivot arm being on the seat tube is a different design. Fezzari has a double top tube setup. Otherwise, looks damn near a Fezzy Cascade Peak

Welp, they are refunding my order. Their stock counter couldn’t keep up with their inventory and they “sold” more than they have, so they reached out to let me know they were cancelling the order and refunding.

Coil will have to wait

My thoughts too! Oh well, I would have preferred the dB coil IL so I’ll just snag one eventually

Hey man I've had a couple rides in the NF DP3 pants and they are awesome. My ride started today around 29F and ended at around 33F. I was comfortable the whole time at those temps with no other layers on underneath. The size large fits my 33" waist perfectly and they do not restrict at all while pedaling. Another benefit is that they are not noisy either. The large pocket holds my Iphone 12promax and there are couple other smaller ones that I did not use but would only fit keys or small food items. No ride yet with my bulkier knee pads (TLD Raid knee pads) so I will get back to you once I do that.

Oh good to hear! I'll keep them on my radar until I get a chance to see how the ones I got work out. Thanks for the update.
