I'm guessing it's a hard 12 years on the truck age? I've had 2 inspections already and CRC done..So I have until FEB of 2022 for my 2010...

Good thing I didn't DIY my truck..
Just got the call..
They got it on the lift...
Master, slave bad..
Clutch is wacked...Frozen/seized fork.
Transmission drop. Throw out bearing replacement..
WOW am I glad I brought this to the mom and pop and not the dealer..
We're up to $1K now...

 

My understanding is now you have 12 years from the CRC being applied. At least that's how I read the notice. I also could be totally wrong.

Same! my pie in the sky goal is to hand this truck down to my daughter. Granted she's not due til april sooooooo this ol gal has to survive 15 more years.

Jeez... I haven't owned a vehicle for longer than 7 years yet... I'm averaging 3-5 years with my vehicles, that usually puts me a little over 100k miles and about when I dump them. With the diesel, I'll evaluate at 100k miles since that's when the powertrain warranty is up. If I'm problem-free with the emissions crap up to that point, I'd like to keep it much longer. If the emissions system gives me problems, it'll be gone as soon as the warranty is up.

It crapped out AT a gas pump...Filled her up...Hopped in, clutch down, Start...
And then it remained engaged....nada...no shifty no drivey...

 

Too much car as a tooling mobile. I might as well just get a second Tacoma at that point.

I'm at 21k in about 13 months. Putting another 7k on in March for another road trip. I think I will end up getting to 300k before I have to worry about rust, I didn't expect to be driving it this much but I am now using it for way more adventures and shenanigans than I used to with the mazda, so. Oh well. Time to rack up the miles!

 

That's more detail than most service advisors give.

 

But what other major repairs has it needed?

 

I think I'll definitely end up dumping the truck before then but it's fun to strive for

 

Great...NOW the muffler bearings need to be pressed and repacked AND the blinker fluid is completely dry on the right rear signal...

Double check. I could be wrong also but I believe it is 12 years from the date the vehicle was put in service but you must get the CRC applied in order for that 12 year warranty to be in effect.

 

Yeah, it's a very nebulous situation. I'll directly ask when I get my frame inspection in october and a fresh CRC
