Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

What is everyone running for caster? I've got mine set at 5.5 degrees with pivot kit/SPC upper arms and handles/tracks well on the street so far.

 

Have you taken the front end apart before? Either way I’d say it is easily doable within a weeks time especially with weekends at either end. I think the slide rack took me 7-8hrs, add another hour of welding for spindle gussets, another 2 or so for uca gussets and you’re only at 10-12hrs. Then another 8 or so probably for the subframe? Heck even if it takes twice that you’re still only at 40hrs and have plenty of time for little screw ups and issues here or there

 

On this truck, I have a lift and SPCs.
On my 1st gen I've completely torn the front end apart. Bearings, bushings, spindle gussets, etc.

My plan (gonna have to find a good divorce lawyer) is to have front and rear bumpers ready for install, new 3rds, cut off the front cross member, rear shock relocate, and full JD fab catalog.

Fact is, I really like my wife, so I'll most likely do a toned down version of all that.

 

I could get everything done in 2 days if I’m going wide open and not concerned with a nice paint job

 

Plenty of fish, but I think mine would just forgoe the divource and violently murder me with a plan like that. A lot harder to enjoy the truck as fertilizer in the rose bed!!

@81Trekker talked to someone at JD the other day on the phone. And the fuel tank was talked about. Just an idea if someone wants to run the tank as extra fuel with the stock maybe you could have another stock sending unit in it with a switch to flip between them like saddle tanks in an old Chevy.

Also any idea a time frame for more lower control arm mounts? Group buy?

 

@81Trekker is the guy who designed all this stuff and works for JDfab...imma gonna guess that he doesnt call the shop and talk to people there about this stuff.
But yes you could run it as an extra tank and yes you could come up with a switch to switch tanks

 

I understand that, I called and talked to someone and he was talking to me about what they were dealing with for sending units etc. and I had just thought that would be a cool way to do it. Where you flip between tanks and the gauge reads out of that tank only. Just like flipping back and forth between tanks in an 80s Chevy
Was trying to offer a possibly helpful solution while also asking when parts were expecting to be back in stock.

 

That’s always been the plan... it can be run stand alone, as an aux tank or simply a under bed storage box

 

I'm ready to buy...... Was way out there this week and almost ran out of gas with this guzzling machine. Pretty sure the Toyota tank is specced as 80 litres, and I put in 82L at the gas station!

roh-oh, running around w/o spare gas in back? I hate that feeling when you go way past the average fill volume....oh snap it was low.



Pro Tip: when taking your truck in for gas tank service, always fill up before... mechanics love that!

 

21.5 x ~3.8L in a gallon is....cavitating the pump when you fill to 82L! Holy cow, Wormsquirts! That's gotta be a record.

Hate to break it to ya @ovrlndkull but they are metric trucks, so litres is the true measurement. You guys are just behind the times down there!

Also got my hooptie back on the road again since install of the JD LCA kit, JD 934 cv’s and front/ rear long travel from DD.


Here’s the LCA kit at a plus one forward at full stuff. Lots of room on the back side.

 

If I wanted to add the slide rack to an order, how much would that add? My search of the website turned up nothing.
